Hello everyone, So sorry I have not been active on the page for a while. I have been in hospital but all is well now and I am back home harassing Derek. It is a delight to have Sienna do her work experience with us. She is a lovely girl and works really hard. A great asset to Hide-away. Here are some photos 🤭

Hello it's Siena again,
I have just finished another afternoon doing some more work experience at the Hide Away Cottage doing computer work. Today I've been answering emails, making invoices, booking letters, listened to how you answer calls from guests and to finish up the afternoon I'm getting taught how to make a monkey and a dog out of towels😄

Hello my name's Siena and I'm writing on behalf of the Hide Away Cottage Retreat. I've recently been doing some work experience here learning lots of different jobs of how to run business by answering emails, figuring out payments, sorting out files, making swans for the beds, making a bow for the toilet paper, knowing about the family's and when they arrive and most importantly knowing how to make the guests feel welcome for every visit they stay. 😀

We have been so lucky, on Friday night we received the Tasmanian Tourism Award for "Peoples Choice", this is a State award and means we will represent Tasmania at the forthcoming National Awards in February. We are absolutely delighted. Thank you to everyone who filled in their survey.

BUSH FIRES
We are being kept up to date with news on the Bush Fires on the North West Coast. We are advised that the majority of visitor destinations and attractions throughout Tasmania, including the North and North West region, at the moment, are not impacted by the fires and are safe to visit, although Cradle Mountain car park has been closed.

The fires closest to us are on the far north west coast, Burnie has no nearby bush fires, although we have been impacted by some smoke.

Today we have had our first rain in several months, lovely to see! Yey!!!!!

We think we have a Super Chook, or a very relieved chook! What do you think? Super chook on the left.

It's that time of year again, Christmas is nearly here. Looking back over the year we have had the privilege to host some wonderful guests. Thank you to everyone who have visited us, we wish you all A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Sue and Derek

Yes Spring is really here, just take a look at what nature can do in a week. This is the same tree.

This is to all you aspiring poets out there. See if you can beat this lovely poem left in our guest book.

Mary and David walked into the wood,
Deep in the dark forest a cottage there stood,
Seeking shelter and someplace to hide,
A note on the door "Welcome inside",
In each room we stepped back in time,
Lost in the pages of a Brothers Grimm rhyme.
Nice, warm and cosy as we ventured upstairs,
I wagered we'd see Goldilocks and three bears,
but to our surprise, and not only one,
Two towels had morphed and took flight as a swan,
Like the "Enchanted Cottage" only true love will find,
Your "Hide-Away Cottage" is one of a kind.
