Don't be fooled into thinking these images are cute.

Dogs, and even cats, can get fed up with uncomfortable treatment. It's never funny or cute to have your pet grabbed, poked, squeezed or intimidated.

Many bites can be prevented if you don't allow this kind of behavior. Nobody wants to see a child hurt or a dog put down because of something like this.

PARASITE PROTOCOLS: WORMING

Please worm your dogs regularly. Zoonotic diseases can be transferred from animals to humans.

If we detect any cling ons, we will treat, isolate and deploy cleaning protocols.

All-wormers are charged at $20 per tablet.
(Drontal is 1 tablet per 10kg, Milbemax treats 5-25kg per tablet)

FLEA PROTOCOLS:

Very relevant topic with all their eggs hatching from the ground in this season, at the moment.

Fleas can kill puppies and kittens. Enough fleas can drain your animal, making them very sick and anaemic.

When fleas are detected many groomers will stop work, close and charge a clean up/sterilisation fee. It is normal. Our duty of care to protect our patients reducing cross-contamination as much as possible.

At Aunty Bec's we do pull a stop work, clean up/sterilisation.

We also treat after the bath with a safe leave on flea wash ($15-$30) to help that dog as quick as possible, and advise owners of course. We don't charge a cleanup fee.

However: to protect every one of our patients moving forward: we will be also treating with Capstar as fleas are discovered: $15 per 10kg.

Please note this is a safe medication to instantly kill fleas present. It is not a preventative, you will still need to work with your Vet advise for long term flea care.

Missed appointments, and I'll cancel all; because they won't match up anyway.

This is an X-ray of a dog’s bent front leg. See that tiny white spec? That’s a microchip! It has migrated down the leg....far from where it was inserted, between the dog’s shoulders. This is actually quite common.....

When lost pets are scanned, the entire body SHOULD be scanned to catch any that have migrated. But, as an owner, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AT THEIR YEARLY VET EXAM, to ask for a quick scan to make sure that: (1) the chip is still working, (2) the location of the chip is good, and (3) that the chip info is correct.

Remember microchips save lives and reunite families with their pet.... just have it checked regularly!
