G’day nature lovers 🌿🦇

Look who we spotted tucked away in the rainforest on our Wildlife Safari on 1 October — an Eastern Tube-nosed Bat!

These little beauties are one of Australia’s smallest megabats and are listed as Vulnerable in NSW. We often hear and sometimes see them flying around on our Night Vision Walks, but it’s much rarer to find one roosting quietly in the rainforest during the day.

Such a special sighting — and a great reminder of just how much wildlife is hiding in plain sight when you know where to look. 💚

G’day nature lovers 🌿🥾

This week, Tom took a group of intrepid hikers out on our Gidjuum Gulganyi Glamping & Hiking Experience.

They certainly put in the hard yards on the trail — but at the end of each day, there was no roughing it!

Think large tents, comfy beds, hot showers and chef-prepared meals waiting back at camp. Because after a big day hiking through some of the most spectacular country in the Northern Rivers, you’ve earned a little luxury. 😄

It’s the best of both worlds — a proper multi-day wilderness hike, without having to carry the kitchen sink on your back.

Well done to this week’s crew! 👏🥾🌿

One of the things I love about the Northern Rivers is how the wildlife shifts as the sun goes down. By day we’re looking for koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and birds, then after dark a completely different cast of characters comes out to play.

A big day, plenty of wildlife and two great groups of nature lovers. 💚
