Today we celebrate 166 years (1859) since Queensland became it's own state seperate from New South Wales.
In Cairns we have an amazing communal swimming lagoon right in the heart of the city. Can you guess what it looks like from this photo? You are right if you guessed it's the shape of this great state, QUEENSLAND! This 4800 square meter salt water pool is free for all to enjoy all year round.

Well hello there! Introducing TACO... the Maori Wrasse located at the Sunlover Reef Cruises Pontoon at Moore Reef. I had the pleasure of snorkelling along side this magneficent large fish on Sunlover's Reef & Island day trip. Is it a bird? A bat? A rainforest ninja?
Nope, it’s a striped possum. One of the rainforest’s cutest (and cleverest) creatures, known for its bold markings and gymnastic skills.

These nocturnal climbers are rarely seen, spending their nights leaping between branches and snacking on insects and nectar. With their fluffy tails and racing-stripe coats, striped possums are basically the stealth mode of the possum world.
