I am incredibly honoured to be nominated for “Most Outstanding Mobile Travel Advisor” at this year's National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA)!

To put it into perspective, the NTIAs are basically the Emmys of the Australian travel industry. It is the absolute pinnacle of recognition for what we do, celebrating excellence through a rigorous process of nominating, voting, and judging.

Having worked in this industry for 15 years, being nominated for such a prestigious award just 4 years into running my own travel agency is honestly a little hard to believe. 🥹✨

Having the ability to build this business up all while raising my family is something I truly would not have seen myself doing just 5 years ago. I’ve been able to live my dream of running a travel agency my way all while being present with my family.

Next step is for me to undergo some rigorous interview processes. If I make it as a finalist, voting will commence for those within the industry later in the year. But honestly, just to be nominated is a highlight of my entire career!

I am so incredibly thankful to all of my amazing clients who book with me, refer me, share my posts, and trust me with their travel dreams. Thank you all so much! 🥂✈️

I stand by this too, while smart traveller is still showing do not travel for transit passengers, I’ve had many now transit though Dubai and even stop over with no issues.

As travel professionals our advisors' role is to get travellers to where they want to go safely and confidently. Australia's Level 4 travel advisory for Middle Eastern airports is making travel harder than it needs to be. Transiting through Dubai or Doha for a few hours is not the same as travelling in a war zone. Australia's travel advisory needs to reflect that.

50 years in the making. 🏔️

Vicki has known me since the very day I was born. She was there at the beginning of my life, and she has been booking travel with me since my first days as an agent. (Gee we’ve planned some good trips together)

This latest booking, however, was extra special.

Vicki has had the Mt Cook Glaciers on her bucket list for five decades. This year, the stars finally aligned. While she was over in NZ visiting her brother, we were able to turn that 50-year dream into a reality with a 2-day experience from Queenstown to Mt Cook.

Staying at the iconic Hermitage Lodge, she took part in the Glacier Explorers tour—the only one of its kind in NZ. She spent the day weaving through floating icebergs on the Tasman Glacial Lake, feeling the sheer scale of the 200m moraines and the raw power of the ice.

As Vicki put it: "The glacier experience was fabulous. Worth waiting for 50 years before life aligned and it could be achieved by your expert skills of putting travel dreams together."

Helping a lifelong friend tick off a 50-year dream? That’s exactly what travel is all about.

📸 Tiffany & Eileen

You know what is important? Taking a girls trip! Us mums often forget to fill our own cup. Tiffany & Eileen have done just that, a well needed 3 night getaway on Carnival cruises. A taste to cruising and a time to switch off.

It was a pleasure planning this one for these lovely ladies, even a last minute injury didn’t stop them travelling. They have reported how fantastic Carnival cruise lines staff were to accommodate an injured knee with help boarding and accessible facilities meaning a knee injury didn’t stop any of the fun or activities.

From dinners and shows, trivia to downtime and amazing food, these ladies have had a fantastic time.

Every now and then, a client sets a challenge that is about much more than just booking a flight.

Denise came to me with a very special request: she wanted to find Crannagael House in Ireland, the home where her great-grandmother was raised. I love a challenge, so I went to work to make it happen.

After some digging, I tracked down the website and reached out to the current owner, Jane. I explained Denise’s family connection and how much it would mean for her to stay where her great-grandmother grew up.

The response was pure Irish hospitality.
Jane invited Denise & KB to stay inside the main residence rather than the guest annex on the grounds, all for the exchange of a bottle of wine. Their kindness was second to none, giving Denise a once-in-a-lifetime connection to her heritage and a chance to truly walk in her ancestor's footsteps.

This is exactly why I love what I do. Travel isn’t just about the destination; it’s about the stories we find along the way and the connections travelers make.

The Ballards have officially touched down in Dubai for their stop over enroute to Ireland.

With Emirates returning to almost full Capacity this month, the Ballards were determined to proceed with their trip as planned over the last year.

Flights were on time and tours all went ahead as planned. As Denise put it, it’s been "business as usual" for them.

It’s such a good reminder that while the news is great at sensationalizing things, simply because drama sells, the reality on the ground is often much more peaceful. While headlines might try to make us feel hesitant, families like the Ballards are out there proving that the world is still ready and waiting to be explored. (With the guidance of your travel agent of course)

Today is World Travel Agent Day, and as I look back on 15 years in this industry, I’m feeling incredibly lucky.

From my early days in retail to leading corporate teams, and finally taking the leap to run my own business—it’s been quite the ride. I’ve seen this industry from every angle, but the heart of it has never changed: helping you see the world.

Over the last 15 years, I’ve booked thousands of trips. I’ve helped plan the first flights for babies and the "bucket list" adventures for retirees. But being an agent isn't always about the postcards. It’s also been about being the voice on the other end of the line during the hard times.

We’ve navigated a global pandemic, border closures, and world events together. I’ve spent the long hours fighting to get travelers home when they were stuck, and the even longer hours fighting to get money back when plans fell apart.

To those of you who have been with me since Day One: thank you for growing with me. To my newer clients: thank you for trusting me with your most precious time.

I’ve been lucky enough to explore over 30 countries myself, and I still get just as excited for your departures as I do for my own.
