Disembarkation: this cruise ended in Budapest. All passengers disembarked. Some had additional nights booked at hotels, some went straight to the airport, some did their own thing. Two nights before, each cabin had received their individual disembarkation letter. Airport and hotel transfers were sorted for everyone. This is a well oiled machine. Luggage was colour coded and picked up from the cabin. Those who had late flights or trains, or hotels with late check in were allowed to stay on the ship. Of course they had to vacate the cabin so that could be cleaned for the next guests, but they could stay till the afternoon and even received lunch, despite the cruise officially being over.
We all thanked the crew for a fantastic cruise. They made it look so easy, yet behind the scenes they all worked hard to make this perfect for us. Avalon Waterways
Oh, one more thing: do you want know what my extras bill came to? ZERO, nothing, Nada! I had pre-paid the gratuities and the two optional excursions I chose. Most excursions were included.
Drinks were included with all meals, and I managed to get a couple of free cocktails in at happy-hour most days. That was far more than I usually drink. Other people had another glass or two after dinner. You really don't need much extra money on an Avalon cruise.
