We've been lucky this week seing a number of these cute Trapdoor spiders out on the prowl. I think it must be mating season, as normally they are tucked in their little burrows with their cute little thatched doorway firmly shut!

One of those spiders that you know is there, but you can't see it... until you get up close with a macro lens. This species hides in its own trash strategically placed along the centre of its orb web. We see this species pretty much every walk and they have a very large distribution throughout the world. You may even see one in your own back yard!
