Frontier Genetics is Out & About!

It’s a busy month for the industry, and we are hitting the road! We love catching up with our community, talking all things genetics, and sharing updates on our project work.

📍 NBRUC 2026 Conference | Brisbane
When: 10 – 13 March
Who: Look out for Bec (REB Grazing), Michael (Wambiana Station), and Rodger (Elrose Brahmans). They’ll be on hand to discuss the latest in Northern Beef research and FGI's role in driving breed progress.

📍 Genetics Australia Beef Forum | Emerald
When: 11 March
Who: Ash (Rockley Brahmans) will be in attendance. Catch up with him to talk about trait recording and our 2026 sale vision.

📍 NTCA Conference | Darwin
When: 19 March
Who: Victoria and Richard (RV Pastoral) are heading North! They’d love to chat with our Territory friends about things Frontier Genetics.

The Year 6 students at St Joseph's Catholic School The Strand are always a pleasure to host. Plenty of energy, enthusiasm, banter and "have a go" attitude. We are fortunate to have shared experiences with you over many years, and hope there are many more to come!

We are now only 1 week away from our Frontier Genetics Open Day in Charters Towers!

Whilst we have been busy weaning & pregnancy testing later than usual due to the great season, the Frontier bulls have been ticking along nicely. We invite you to join us for an inspection.
When: Saturday 23 August from 9am
Where: Charters Towers Showgrounds.

On display will be a great selection of red and grey Brahman bulls from:
• Oak Park
• Trafalgar
• Wambiana
• Lookout
• Tartrus

The stud principals will be in attendance and happy to chat about all things Frontier Genetics ahead of the Online Sale on the 29th of August on AuctionsPlus.

Please join us for a cuppa throughout the day or a cold drink and nibblies after 4pm.

It was such a pleasure to host the well-mannered, inquisitive and enthusiastic Year 5 students from All Souls St Gabriel's School last week. There were no shortage of volunteers to help out with all the station activities undertaken and we hope you have plenty of stories to share!

Michelle and I would like to invite anyone interested, to an Open Day to inspect bulls this coming Friday.

Together with the Oak Park and Trafalgar Studs, there will be 32 red and grey Brahman bulls available for inspection that are catalogued in the 2024 Frontier Genetics Annual Bull Sale.

Viewing is available from 10.30am to 6.30pm at the Charters Towers Showgrounds (Oxford Lane Access).

The Wambiana Grazing Trial was established in 1997 and is one of the longest running grazing land management trials in Northern Australia.
