Planning your trip to Floriade? 🌷 Here’s everything you need to know about getting to Commonwealth Park this spring! šŸŒøšŸ‘‡

Walk, bike or scoot šŸš¶ā€ā™€ļø Commonwealth Park is only a 15-minute stroll from the City Light Rail stop. Cycling? Bike racks are ready at every gate. Just don’t forget your lock. E-scooters are great to get there, but they can’t be taken inside the park.

Public transport made easy 🚌 Hop on free daily shuttles linking the City Centre, National Triangle and Floriade. On weekends (and during NightFest), catch the Floriade Express. Direct buses from Belconnen, Woden and Tuggeranong straight to Regatta Point. If you’re coming from Gungahlin, take the Light Rail to the City, then shuttle or walk in.

Arrive in style by ferry ā›“ļø On weekends, Love Boats cruises from Kingston Foreshore or Queen Elizabeth Terrace drop you right at Floriade. A fun, scenic way to start your day on the lake!

Driving & parking tips šŸš— Limited parking is available at Regatta Point and West Basin. More options are close by at Canberra Centre, City Pool, the National Library of Australia and other National Triangle carparks, all connected by the free shuttle. Download the EasyPark app to make paying for parking simple. Accessible parking is right by the Regatta Point entry (with a valid permit).

šŸ’” Use the Transport Canberra Journey Planner to map your route and check live updates. You can also follow Transport Canberra on Facebook and X or call 13 17 10 for real-time service info.

Weekend trip to Bathurst included a big bike meet, glorious gardens, sensational begonias, a tour of historic Abercrombie House, a nostalgic trip to the old Mitchell College and a lap around Mount Panorama. So much fun. Thank you Bathurst! Such a great place.

Trip to Tidbinbilla with the littlies was very rewarding. Spotted several bandicoots, potoroos, the koala joey, kangaroo joeys and many birds. On the way home we spotted an echidna. Being in nature is so very grounding. Some pics for proof.

It's been a very exciting week at Commonwealth Park, with the first of the Floriade bulbs being planted! 🄳

Our ACT Government staff and contractors are planting the thousands of bulbs required to create the beautiful displays we know and love, with a variety of flowers including tulips, daffodils and jonquils 🌷

We can’t wait to see them in full bloom at Floriade this year! 🄰

āļøCARAVAN & HOLIDAY PARKS āļø

Alivio Tourist Park Canberra reflects the heart and soul of Australia's bush capital. Close to the Canberra CBD and iconic attractions, but secluded within a 7-hectare bushland reserve, it marries city convenience with the peace of its natural surrounds.

Guests enjoy resort-style facilities plus amenities not often seen in holiday parks, like a mountain bike workstation and rainfall showers in the shared bathrooms. With an outstanding Ć  la carte restaurant on site that serves signature cocktails and craft beers, there are plenty of reasons to start your next Capital Region adventure at Alivio. Great work Alivio for all that you do in the tourism industry.

āļø CULTURAL TOURISM āļø

Located in Australia’s national capital, Canberra, the Royal Australian Mint is the place where Australia’s cultural ā€˜handheld heritage’ is designed, produced and distributed.

Not only is it an operating factory – the sole supplier of Australia’s circulating coinage – it is also a museum and educational provider, giving visitors an insight into Australia’s currency heritage. The factory-viewing platform provides a rare glimpse into the coin production process, offered at few mints in the world. Visitors can join a free tour, mint their own coin, explore programs and exhibitions, or buy collectibles from the shop. Congratulations to the Royal Australian Mint.

Congratulations to our wonderful Director Dr Mathew Trinca AM FAHA for winning the ā€˜Outstanding contribution by an individual’ award at the Canberra Region Tourism Awards last night.

Dr Trinca is an integral player in the Canberra and Region tourism sector. Amongst many other achievements, our Museum was the incubator for the Cultural Icons of Australia campaign, which involved 12 national cultural institutions in a cooperative destination marketing campaign, now in its third year.

During his decade as Director, Dr Trinca has not only grown tourism numbers to the Museum. Through his leadership, the Museum has also been responsible for contributing to the growth of tourist numbers into the ACT.
