Another milestone ticked off at Ngamawari!

Our site teams have been working hard alongside the City Renewal Canberra to deliver this exciting project at the Acton Waterfront. A big shoutout to our crew and subcontractors for another seamless concrete pour on site.

Proud to be building spaces that will connect and enhance the Canberra community for years to come.

Construction is progressing at Ngamawari, with a recent concrete pour marking a major milestone for the arrival pavilion, which will provide new amenities including a cafe and public toilets for park visitors.

When complete in 2028, Ngamawari will feature:

🛝 an adventure playground
🎨 public art and cultural storytelling
🌱 extensive native gardens
🚾 new amenities, including toilets and two pavilions
✨ flexible event spaces

Keep an eye out for signage to direct pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles during construction.

Project Update | Dickson Shops Revitalisation

Halfway there.

The staged upgrade of Dickson Shops has reached the 50 per cent mark, which makes it a good moment to look at what has been happening above and below the surface.

Delivered for the City Renewal Canberra, the project spans stormwater infrastructure upgrades, pavement reconstruction, underground electrical and communication services, concrete works, landscaping and public realm improvements. Where practical, existing materials on site are being reused and repurposed to reduce waste.

Building in the middle of a busy shopping precinct is a different kind of challenge. Every stage is planned around live services, pedestrian access and keeping local businesses accessible.

Thank you to the Dickson traders and the local community for your patience as the precinct takes shape. There is plenty more to come.

Not many engineers get to put a dam, a waterfront park and an iconic national landmark on the same CV.

We're looking for a Project Engineer to join the COMPLEX team in Canberra.

Right now our crews are delivering some of the region's most interesting infrastructure: the National Gallery of Australia, the Gungahlin Tennis Facility, the Dickson Shops upgrade, Ngamawari at the Acton Waterfront, Scrivener Dam operations and maintenance, and the Lake George Mine remediation at Captains Flat.

Different sites, different challenges, one team. You'll work alongside people who have been solving complex construction problems for decades, in an environment built to help you grow.

The future Gungahlin Tennis Facility is starting to take shape.​

​If you've driven past recently, you'll have noticed significant progress onsite. The tennis courts are now clearly taking form and work on the new pavilion is well underway.​

What's exciting about projects like this is seeing a vision on paper become a reality. In the second image, you can see the facility layout alongside the current progress photo, giving a glimpse of what the completed venue will look like for players, families and the wider Gungahlin community.​

Most people know Scrivener Dam. Few get to see what it takes to maintain it.​

While most people see the iconic structure holding back Lake Burley Griffin, there's a huge amount of work underway to keep it operating safely for Canberra.​

As the operator and maintainer of Scrivener Dam on behalf of the National Capital Authority, COMPLEX is currently delivering the remediation of Flap Gate 3, one of the dam's 30-metre-wide steel flap gates.​

This isn't your everyday construction project. It involves isolating and dewatering the gate, confined space access, detailed inspections, structural steel repairs, and the safe removal and replacement of ageing protective coatings, all while protecting the lake and surrounding environment.​

It's a great example of the specialist infrastructure, asset management and maintenance work our team delivers every day, often out of sight but essential to keeping critical community assets operating reliably.​

Project Award | Sydney Motorways Airport Signage Program

We're excited to announce that COMPLEX has been awarded the M2 and M5 Corridor packages for Transport for NSW's Airport Signage Program, delivering critical wayfinding upgrades across some of Sydney's busiest motorway networks.

The project will support the introduction of Western Sydney International Airport, helping motorists navigate safely and efficiently to both of Sydney's international airports through a coordinated upgrade of motorway signage.

While often viewed as maintenance and asset improvement works, programs such as this require detailed planning, stakeholder coordination, traffic management and live-network delivery expertise. This project highlights the capability of our Maintenance and Asset Management Division to successfully deliver large-scale network improvement programs while maintaining the safety and functionality of critical transport infrastructure.

This project also reinforces COMPLEX's reputation for delivering specialised infrastructure works in complex live traffic environments and continues our strong relationship with Transport for NSW. We look forward to working collaboratively with TfNSW and key stakeholders to deliver this important program.
