Looking for a meaningful way to connect with Ngunnawal culture while exploring Canberra? ๐Ÿฆ‹โœจ

Nestled within the National Arboretum Canberra, the Mununja the Butterfly Garden invites visitors to slow down, reflect and connect with a Ngunnawal Dreaming story that has been shared across generations.

Created in consultation with Traditional Custodians, the garden tells the story of Mununja, a young Aboriginal girl who was transformed into a butterfly so she could remain close to her family and Country forever. Native plants, butterfly habitats and symbolic design elements come together to honour the enduring stories, knowledge and care of the Ngunnawal people.

Today in the ACT marks Reconciliation Day, an opportunity to reflect, learn and continue the journey towards reconciliation together.
