From 1 July 2026, all travellers entering or leaving South Africa by air, land or sea must complete a mandatory online Traveller Declaration before they travel.

This declaration is part of South Africa's Customs requirements and is used to declare goods, currency and other applicable items.

For passengers travelling through the Middle East this year, please note that airlines are currently offering flexible rebooking or refunds only for flights departing on or before the following dates:

✈ Etihad Airways – departures on or before 21 March26
✈ Qatar Airways – departures on or before 22 March26
✈ Emirates – departures on or before 31 March26

Passengers travelling within these timeframes have already been contacted with the latest airline updates. For travel after these dates, flights remain confirmed as scheduled. Should you wish to make changes now, standard airline rebooking fees and fare conditions will apply according to your ticket terms.
If you decide to cancel any land arrangements, tours, or cruise components, the usual supplier cancellation policies will also apply.
Please also note that travel insurance policies generally do not cover claims related to acts of war, civil unrest, or government-issued “do not travel” advisories.
