Spend the morning creating your own beautiful nature-inspired jewellery, meeting our rescued animals, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the sanctuary.

Made some custom lighting at Eventide while had a couple of rain days.

One was from a beautiful old lantern I bought from a deceased estate years ago and one was dead branch off the largest gum tree on the sanctuary which I carefully modified to take the modern lighting safely.

Even used an old rail tie from the old Hobart train line to hang the lantern.

I really love bringing old items back to life and using them in respectful ways.

Things years ago were made with passion and pride.

If any historical folks could share some info on the lantern that would be really interesting. Some close up photos below.

Meet Joe & Storm 🐴🤎

Today we wanted to give you a little behind-the-scenes look into life at Eventide Sanctuary, what our horses eat, the daily care they receive, and what it really takes to care for rescued animals living freely across the sanctuary.

Every animal here has their own story, routine, needs, and personality, and we love being able to share more of that journey with you all.

We’re also so excited to now be introducing our new sanctuary workshops ✨
For example, jewellery making with naturally foraged feathers, art, animals, tea and time spent reconnecting with nature overlooking the sanctuary.

It’s National Volunteer week in Australia 🇦🇺 so I would like to take the opportunity to publicly thank everyone who has donated time, money and resources into assisting Eventide Sanctuary become what it is today.

It really does have a network around the world now. From political support through to manual labour and donated food, it’s the network of people that will help it move into the future as it grows.

Special mention must go to Craig and Pam, (pictured) who three times a week, every week, collect organic food waste from local supermarkets and deliver it to Eventide.
This is a big task and I appreciate their help so much. 🙏🙏🙏

You may remember lovely Abraham the Rottweiler who needed a foster home in a bit of a hurry last month.
After a nice holiday with his new foster mum he is now back home with his owner again.

This is really a lovely outcome for all involved and I’m proud Eventide Sanctuary and supporters were able to make this happen.
