Australian Speedcar Title at Simpson Speedway in southwestern Victoria. Figured one had to be there so travelled down yesterday with Russell Blackman.

The photos below demonstrate our view of proceedings. Nice and high but unfortunately not high enough to avoid the flies.

But the leftover Bushman’s repellent courtesy of Shayne Andrews has helped considerably to reduce the impact.

Jarod Steen and Rusty Bysouth were also thankful to Shayne.

Our flagship Month of Money tour for 2026 is coming quickly .....

It leaves Australia on June 24th, or July 12th or August 6th. The A, the B or the C tour. Just depends how much time you have. But everybody leaves the USA on August 17th after the Knoxville Nationals.

Depending on which tour you choose, this is the number of races you will see.

The 'A main' gets in 43! The 'B' has 30 and the 'C main' gets 9.

Tap or click on the link in the first comment below and you'll be taken to the Itinerary page on our website. Read to your heart's content, but if you just want to read the itinerary in table format, then look for the link to go straight there.

The tour is on sale and available for you right now. Except for tour C because it’s sold out pretty quick. The A and B have just two spots left.

Contact Peter on 0419 264159 to get your name on the ever-growing list for 2026. Or 2027 if '26 is full.

PS: Al doesn't yet understand what a sprintcar is. But it did a good job with the tailgating! We do lots of that .....

Night 5 of our speedway adventures in Darwin was also the last night of Chariots of Thunder.
L McHugh was the expected winner of the final feature, and also the point score, but he upended in spectacular fashion while chasing eventual A Main winner Jock Goodyer.

If he’d simply accepted the second placing, then the overal CoT championship would have been his. Instead Luke Storer from Portland, Victoria stole the honours with an impressive first up Chariots appearance.

Deryk was the the GST sweep winner who ‘owned’ Goodyer and he gratefully accepted the $60 from Leanne, last night’s lucky recipient.

Night 4 / Chariots of Thunder
A new $60 winner tonight when Pat drew the #1 card and became the proud owner of the high point scorer for the night. And that was Jock Goodyer, but the Tasmanian elected to go to the back when he took the Pope Challenge.

So where did that leave Pat?

Well the Supplementary Regulations for the sweep needed to be consulted. But there was no Page 22, Clause 16(a) paragraph 9c which should have clarified Pat’s position.

So, with no other advice available we simply gave Pat a choice just like the driver. Keep Jock from P20, or take the driver in P2 who would now move up to P1. That driver was Jy Corbett.

Pat kept her loyalty to Goodyer out of P20.

The result? Corbett went on to win and Leanne took home the $60 leaving Pat high, dry and broke.

Leanne is pictured with her winnings.

The money stayed in the Bootland clan again tonight with Mitchell drawing the Ace which gives the driver out of P1 to the holder of that card in our sweep.

Not surprising at all really, given that L McHugh started on the pole again for the third time in three nights.

After a significant amount of carnage he motored home to collect the big cheque once again.

We put the first of these two pics up last Friday when Fiona won the money in the sweep after she drew Lockie McHugh in the A main.

But it disappeared into the haze of a hot Darwin day. No idea where it went.

The second photo is of Peter accepting the $50.00 (from Fiona) as the winner of Saturday night’s sweep. Again it was McHugh who took the chocolates.

This one hasn’t been published before and has been kept a secret because the Tour Host forgot to put it up.

Congrats to both winners ….

Day 38 and St Louis is where we’re staying But we’re racin’ at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri. The track that was laser copied and a duplicate I-55 emerged in Bordertown, South Australia.

The track was fast as always and the sweep was quick, with $85 up for grabs by a smaller group than usual but one that was supplemented by Phil March and his guests.

Phil drew Buddy Kofoid who was a fast finishing third in an excelkent shoot-out for tomorrow night’s 55 lap final. He’s a big chance.

It was James though who owned Carson Macedo from the pole and tonight the cash all belonged to him. Our photo shows Danny presenting James’ first win.

Day 32 was a rain-out at Kokomo. Looked promising early, but a line of storms formed and dumped its load right on start time.

Day 33 was the Brickyard and for whatever reason a sweep was not conducted. Maybe our inner thoughts figured that because it wasn’t dirt it didn’t count.

Days 34 and 35 were originally rest days but Kokomo pinched Tuesday night to try again. Young Junior took the honours and won himself a quick $85.00.

Day 36 was at Circle City, but with no sweep. Finally things got back on an even keel at Terre Haute (Day 37) and a frighteningly fast feature saw Chase Stockon defeat Robert Ballou by a nose in an epic race.

Ballou’s disappointed owner Glenn is pictured here presenting the cash to a delighted Danny.

On Day 29 we were at Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg, Indiana. However the number of Silver Crown cars that turned up was less than the number of participants who wanted to be in the GST sweep. Hence there wasn’t one.

Day 30 was a very hectic one which involved the historic debut of the USAC sprintcars on the Dirt Track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. By the time we completed all other tasks on that momentus day there was no time to conduct the sweep as folks peeled off to enjoy every moment inside the track, rather than tailgating.

But on day 31 we eventually returned to normality at Putnamville and the draw took place well before our members left the pictusque grassy knolls of Lincoln Park Speedway.

Lynette drew the ‘3’ which meant two things. Firstly she got Robert Ballou and secondly he went on to win, meaning it became the fourth time either Lynette or her partner Ray had scooped the pool on this tour.

Our picture shows Darryl, the most previous winner, presenting the $85 to a joyful Lynette.
