le bit about our history…
Here at Tweed Coast Weddings, we’ve been lucky enough to help our local wedding scene flourish – from humble beginnings providing marketing support, to an extensive online directory filled with the very best wedding industry professionals on the Tweed Coast. We first launched our website ‘Casuarina Weddings’ in 2012, as a basic portal to help build the profile of our small coastal town as a must-visit wedding destination. At the time, there were just 2 local venues that required our expertise, and we worked closely with them to improve their exposure. As our website grew, so too did the wedding scene in our local area – rapidly! In 2013, we were able to expand our online platform and create a boutique directory featuring a hand-picked selection of local venues and suppliers. The Casuarina Weddings directory soon became a helpful online platform to assist couples researching their wedding in the region, while also facilitating styled shoots, collaborations and exposure opportunities for our industry professionals. In 2017, we had 11 major venues and over 60 suppliers listed on Casuarina Weddings. After realising that our platform had well and truly outgrown its name, we decided to fully embrace this growth by rebranding into Tweed Coast Weddings – an exciting new direction that more accurately reflects the evolution of our local wedding scene. The Birth of Tweed Coast Weddings
Over the last few years, the Tweed Coast has fast become one of the most sought-after Australian destinations to tie the knot. With our pristine coastlines, lush hinterland surroundings and picturesque scenery, it’s no wonder couples have been flocking to our beautiful region to host their big day. With the Tweed Coast becoming an increasingly popular wedding destination, we’ve experienced a huge influx of both couples and their guests visiting the region. From the secluded rainforests of Uki to the sun-soaked Kingscliff beaches, it’s now estimated that the Tweed Coast plays host to over 1000 weddings a year – meaning approximately 80,000 people visiting our community just for these special celebrations! For many destination weddings, it’s often the memories made and moments shared both before and after the big day itself that contribute to the overall experience. This realisation is where Tweed Coast Weddings was born. With our boutique accommodation options, award-winning restaurants, incredible scenic lookouts, sheltered creeks and unparalleled beaches, our region has so much to offer for visitors. Our intention behind the new Tweed Coast Weddings brand is to become a central online hub for both our couples and their guests, allowing them to make the most out of their stay by researching and exploring our unique location. Tweed Coast Weddings will be filled with helpful resources, need-to-know information and valuable content to allow both couples and their loved ones to experience the very best parts of our region, as we enable them to build the perfect itinerary for their stay. Our directory of hand-picked venues and suppliers will still play a key role in the platform, allowing couples to research and book their dream team of wedding professionals. But now, our brides and grooms-to-be along with their family and friends will also be able to book restaurants, browse local accommodation options, and read up on things to do and places to see as we continue sharing useful and inspiring content through the Tweed Coast Weddings blog.
