Tauck River Cruise of the Canals of the Netherlands
I recently returned from an excellent River Cruise of the Canals of the Netherlands.
Was it any good?
Better than that. It was fantastic.
The ship was 5-star, Tauck, the company was fabulous, and the itinerary was magnificent.
Some of my fellow travellers were on their 25th tour with Tauck. That speaks volumes about the quality of the tour company.

GREAT VALUE
A-Rosa is a European river cruise company with 13 ships on the following 5 rivers in Europe, Rhine, Danube, Rhone/Saone, Seine and Douro.

River cruising in Europe is becoming bigger and it’s possibly better than before.

I love river cruising, because of some of the obvious reasons, and some of the not-so-obvious reasons.

Egypt – Abu Simbel
I consider my visit to Abu Simbel, as my top travel highlight.

Ramses the great Pharoah of Egypt, declared himself a god, and built the Temple at Abu Simbel, about 1240 B.C.

Abu Simbel is two temples, carved into the side of a mountain, containing four enormous statues of the seated pharoah Ramses II, at the entrance, each about 22 metres high.

So my advice to you, if you happen to be in Egypt, do try to visit Abu Simbel. You will be so pleased that you have made the effort to see this amazing site.
