Tahiti is remote. The resorts are exclusive. And getting into an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora? That takes real planning.

Flights from Sydney to Papeete take about 10 hours. From there, you’ll need a domestic flight to the island, a boat transfer to your resort, and ideally—perfect timing for your check-in so you’re not left waiting in the sun with all of your things in tow.

It’s a slice of paradise, yes… but the costs and logistics involved is not as simple as clicking ‘book now’ because there are so many little things in between!

It’s one of the most photogenic places in Athens… and hardly anyone talks about it, being overshadowed by the Parthenon. Yes, the Parthenon is impressive. But the Erechtheion, with its eye-capturing Porch of the Caryatids, is where I found myself lingering. So much so that I forgot to take a photo with me in it. I just wanted to take it all in!

The Erechtheion is quieter, deeply atmospheric, and surprisingly moving.

On cruise itineraries that stop in Piraeus (Athens), most people only have a few hours to explore. And that’s why planning ahead matters so much. Knowing where to go, when to go, and what not to miss makes all the difference. Another thing is how so many travellers breeze past the port talks or briefings on cruise ships, but when you're headed somewhere as layered and legendary as Athens, those sessions can be gold.

Standing at the Erechtheion, overlooking the city, I realised just how much history you can experience in one day… IF you plan smart. Some excursions fill up early, while others might not be the best fit for your mobility or pace.
