Perhaps it’s Paris for art and culture, Provence for villages and markets, the French Riviera for Mediterranean scenery, or Bordeaux for food and w**e. If you prefer somewhere a little different, Corsica may surprise you.

The Eiffel Tower, Cannes and Provence’s lavender fields may be famous, but there’s plenty to discover beyond them. Having been to France myself and after organising my clients’ bespoke holidays there, here are some of my recommendations…

Wander through Antibes’ old town, visit colourful Menton, explore the hilltop villages of the Luberon or discover the Roman heritage of Nîmes. Sometimes it’s these smaller places that give an itinerary so much of its character.

The real value of a travel professional often shows up when things don’t go to plan.

I’ve had clients overseas experience flight cancellations that affected more than just their next flight.

A cancelled flight can have a knock-on effect on accommodation, connections, and the rest of an itinerary.

In those situations, my job was to step in quickly.

I worked on rebooking flights, adjusting accommodation arrangements where needed and helping my clients continue their journey with as little disruption as possible.

They didn’t have to spend their holiday trying to work out what to do next.

They had someone they could contact who already understood their itinerary and could start working on the problem.

That’s one of the reasons I believe having a Personal Travel Manager matters.
