Some places genuinely feel like they belong in a storybook.

Just outside Lisbon, Sintra is one of those places.

From the colourful turrets of Pena Palace to the winding roads, lush gardens and historic estates scattered throughout the hills, Sintra makes for a memorable addition to any Portugal itinerary.

While Pena Palace is the obvious highlight, we’d recommend allowing enough time to experience more of Sintra rather than simply ticking off the palace and moving on.

Because sometimes the best travel experiences happen when you slow down and leave a little room to explore.
