JOB DESCRIPTION

Farmgate Backpackers is known as one of Queensland’s most reputable seasonal worker coordinators and backpacker hostels. We have a culture and reputation for providing a fun lifestyle and well-paid work.

Our region produces a wide variety of crops all year round and with the horticulture wage set at over $26 and plenty of hours available, there’s money to be made. We are now accepting bookings for the upcoming season where jobs will be allocated on a first in basis. No experience needed, as training is provided. A strong work ethic and good fitness is all we ask.

Lychee picking - There will be up to 8 positions available Starting on or after the 19 Dec 2022 - Hourly pay over $26 per hour , with accommodation and transport also available.
Chilli picking - There will be up to 6 positions available Starting on or after the 19 Dec 2022 - Hourly pay over $26 per hour , with accommodation own Transport needed.( you would stay at Farmgate East Bundaberg Backpacker Hostel)
Lychee picking - There will be up to 12 positions available Starting January 2023 - Hourly pay , with accommodation and transport also available.
Accommodation is offered starting at $160 per week with clean kitchen and amenities and transport $50 per week.
Pick up from Howard train Station is $50, pick ups between 10am and 3pm. – 7 days a week
Check in is between 10am and 4pm – 7 days a week.

Work is in the Childers region near Bundaberg, Queensland.
The main duties will be general farm duties and crop preparation. No previous experience is required and days spent working qualify for backpacker visa extensions.
Farm work is physical and outdoors but our workers find it enjoyable working as part of a fun team of backpackers from all over the world. All equipment is supplied on farm and employees are paid hourly in accordance with the Horticulture Casual Award 2010 but must have working rights in Australia. We provide on-farm training and observe the highest standards in safety and working conditions.
Workers generally receive an average of 25 to 38 hours per week over an estimated season of up to 9 months.

Work is in the Childers region near Bundaberg, Queensland.
The main duties will be harvesting, packing, general farm duties and crop preparation. No previous experience is required and days spent working qualify for backpacker visa extensions.
