Science in Practice students from Year 11 and 12 have been exploring the concepts of energy and resources consumption and sustainability.

As well as learning about renewable and non-renewable resources, energy efficiency and sustainability they investigated processes for reducing their communities' impacts on the environment at a local, national and global level.

Using their knowledge from this unit they designed and built model houses featuring materials and building methods that they have researched.

Please be at the tuckshop by 12:50pm to meet your coach. The bus departs at 1:00pm sharp. If you miss the bus, you must meet Mrs Sprudzans at the oval at the start of period 4.

The Year 7 Sports Extension Squad wrapped up their 5th CrossFit session of the semester with a high-energy tug of war, followed by an intense AMRAP workout featuring dumbbell squats, dumbbell clean and press, and hanging knee raises. This session marked the end of an incredible semester of physical and mental growth.

We’re proud of the effort and progress our students have made and are already looking forward to the gains and goals of next semester. A huge thank you to Brett and the team at CrossFit Moreton Bay for continuing to provide such an amazing opportunity for our students!

Our Aquatic Practices students have been busy designing two new fish tanks 🪸🐠🐟

One is inspired by an early childhood classroom, with fun ornaments and bright colours.

The aim of the tank is to get young children excited to learn about the sea and to care about animals.

The other tank is deigned to mimic a natural freshwater environment such as lakes and billabongs.

Having this allows the organisms to thrive as it replicates the natural habitats including temperature, lighting and food sources which leads to lower stress and illness.

Overall it creates a stable and balanced ecosystem for the fresh water inhabitants.
