We love RUGBY at CBSHS ๐Ÿ’ช

Rain might have paused this weekโ€™s Interschool Sport fixtures, but it certainly didnโ€™t slow down rugby at CBSHS.

Our Junior Boys Rugby League squad made the most of the conditions with a high-quality training session, showing real commitment, energy, and team spirit. Under the guidance of Mr Boland, the boys focused on safe and effective tackling techniques, continuing to develop strong fundamentals and game awareness.

Sessions like these reflect the pride, discipline, and competitive edge our students bring to the field each week.

If youโ€™re keen to improve your skills, be part of a supportive team environment, and represent CBSHS with pride, we encourage all interested Year 8/9 boys to come along and get involved.

Questions? Please email Mr Boland.

Five CBSHS teachers.
One goal.
$5,000 for better menโ€™s mental health. ๐Ÿ’™

This month, Mr Prow, Mr Boland, Mr Becroft, Mr Morse and Mr Downson are taking on the Push-Up Challenge to raise awareness and funds for mental health support across Australia.
Together, they'll be completing thousands of push-ups while starting important conversations around menโ€™s mental health, resilience, and checking in on your mates.
Weโ€™ve created a school fundraising page and would love the support of our wider community. Every donation, share, and conversation helps make a difference.

Mental health matters.
Checking in matters.
Support matters.

If you can, please donate or share and help us reach our $5,000 goal. ๐Ÿ’ชwww.thepushupchallenge.com.au/fundraiser/clontarfbeachstatehighschool

FROM CONCEPT TO CUSTOMER ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Day #2

Our Year 10 Hospitality students have spent the term developing their food concepts from the ground upโ€”researching food trends, designing menu items, costing ingredients, and preparing for two exciting Market Days.

Students put their skills to the test by serving fellow students on day one and staff on day two. Working in commercial kitchens, they demonstrated outstanding teamwork, organisation, time management and customer service while preparing and serving their dishes.

A huge thank you to Hospitality teachers Shanna Armfield, Phillip Morrison, and our amazing Hospitality staff for supporting students throughout the journey. The real-world experience, combined with valuable customer feedback, provided an authentic taste of the hospitality industry.

We are incredibly proud of the creativity, professionalism and dedication shown by our students. The market stalls were a fantastic success, with many dishes selling out and customers sharing positive feedback.

๐Ÿ‘ Well done, Year 10 Hospitality!

๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ”ฌ MORETON BAY MARINE SCIENCE EXCURSION ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿฆ

Our Marine Science students recently headed to Moreton Bay, stepping into the role of marine scientists to conduct an ecological survey using a stratified sampling process.

Throughout the day, students gained hands-on experience with real scientific equipment and techniques, including:

๐ŸŸ Using a Baited Remote Underwater Video Station (BRUV) to survey fish populations
๐Ÿค– Operating an Underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) for ecological monitoring
๐Ÿฆ  Collecting plankton samples using nets and examining them under microscopes
๐ŸŒŠ Investigating the biodiversity and health of Moreton Bay's marine ecosystems

Experiences like these give students valuable insight into marine research while developing practical scientific skills in the field.

CBSHS Sports Extension Squad (SES) ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Our SES students travelled to the Gold Coast Performance Centre at Runaway Bay for an incredible camp experience focused on leadership, teamwork and athletic development.

Across the camp, students challenged themselves through a range of physical activities, team-building experiences and high-performance training sessions while also building stronger connections with one another outside the classroom.
The camp provided students with the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, demonstrate resilience and continue developing the values that underpin the SES program.

A HUGE thank you to Mr Prow and Mrs Kay, who volunteered their own time to help facilitate this experience and support our students throughout the camp. Their commitment and willingness to provide opportunities like this for students is greatly appreciated.

These photos shared of the camp, capture some of the great experiences, challenges and memories shared across the few days. ๐Ÿ‘
