Yesterday’s ride with Kath and Ken was truly special.
I first met these wonderful people almost 40 years ago when I started visiting Urunga. When I made the move here, they welcomed me with open arms and treated me like one of their own. During some challenging times in my life, Kath was always there to make sure I was fed, cared for, and doing okay.
People often say that family is defined by blood, but I’ve always believed that family is built through kindness, love, and the people who stand by you when it matters most. Kath and Ken have always been that kind of family to me.
It was an absolute pleasure to return the favour in a small way and take them for a ride today up to Dorrigo. Seeing their smiles and sharing stories from years gone by made for a very special day.
I’m so glad you both enjoyed the adventure, and a big thank you to your daughter Trudy for organising it.
