Part (v) Day 19 📍 Victoria River

Early start checking the cherubin pots, after a haul of a dozen half decent ones, we reset the pots and went for a burn, pulling up next to good snags. Only to be cleaned up by mungrel bloody catfish!!!

Managed to get a decent Barra next to the boat, but it spat the hook, so no dice!

Long day on the water, Uppa at 6am, back at the boat ramp at 6:30pm…. Straight to the roadhouse for a feed n b**r 😮‍💨😴 hard work catching nothing 🤣🤣

Lunch feed at the boat club before we hit the road.

Brian the legend fixed the cross member on my boat trailer whilst we were out touristing this morning, absolute champion fella.

It was a mixed emotions leaving, had the best time… but naturally wanted more 😁

Perfect reason to come back!!!

Until next time…. It’s been unreal Arnhem Land 🫱🏻‍🫲🏿

** minor mishap on the way outta Gove, flat tyre and a mag wheel lock nut left at home 😬 once that was fixed onwards we went.

Drove through the night, left Gove at 2pm in the arvo and got to Katherine about 6am 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

By 4am I was seriously suffering from fatigue, jumped out to give Jimmy Cook a steer for a last bit of the drive and good job I did, the front bolt on the boat trailer spring had all bar wiggled out entirely, just holding on. Once we brumbied that up with an old U-Bolt we battled on to get back to Katherine.

The kids to their credit, travelled amazing!

Day 17 morning - we got back to K-Town 😴

The end of arguably, one of the greatest trips ever (I do say that about every trip though 😆😆😆)

Lunch feed at the boat club before we hit the road.

Brian the legend fixed the cross member on my boat trailer whilst we were out touristing this morning, absolute champion fella.

Part (iv) Day 16 - 📍 East Woody Island | Buffalo Creek Beach | Gove Peninsula Surf Life Saving Club

Our last day in Gove, spot of sight seeing after early pack up.
Check out a few tourist spots, East Woody Beach and Island and some rock climbing to get up the top! Speccy views though! 🤩🤩🤩

Some shell collecting along Buffalo Creek Beach, and a mandatory snap for our east coast nippers, out the front of the Gove Surf Club.

Lunch at the Gove Boat Club and we eventually hit the road

Great way to finish off an awesome week in Gove. Plenty more to see…. Guess we will have to come back soon 😉😂

Part (iv) Day 15 - 📍 Daliwuy Bay - Mangrove Jacks

Cruisy start to the day, rolled out of Gove and headed to Daliwuy Bay, tide still out a bit, so we unloaded the boats and headed around to Macassan Beach for a walk and dip in the water to cool off.

Back tracked, still a fair bit of down timber throughout the bush from the recent cyclone.

Launched the boats are a bite for lunch and punched it up streams and picked off a few small inlets along the river. Went down about as far as the fork in the river.

Jimmy Cook, Ruby, Oscar cleaned up on Mangrove Jack 👌👌

Cracking spot, fished awesome with some pilly burley. Cracking afternoon, wind came up a bit in the end, but by then we had a mad feed of jacks 😋😋

Boats loaded back up, coupla fresh tins and we made our way back to Gove for Mangrove Jack dinner!!

Just another cracking day in Arnhem Land
