Today the Greens tabled a petition signed by 414 community members calling for the creation of a safe bike and walking track between Swanwick and Coles Bay

Sign the community petition calling for a dedicated bike and walking track to connect Swanwick and Coles Bay. Be quick it closes on Monday, 10th March.

Having this track will improve safety for cyclists and walkers, provide a healthy transport option for locals, and is a perfect fit for the nature-based tourism destination of Freycinet and Coles Bay. Have you noticed the huge number of rabbits around at the moment?

We've been hearing from people right across Greater Hobart about this issue. From the Hobart Domain to Poimena Reserve in Austin's Ferry and everywhere in between, rabbits are damaging the environment, much-loved parks, recreational infrastructure, and even private property.

The government haven't taken this issue seriously enough, which is why the Greens are the community by petitioning the Tasmanian Government to address the rabbit population crisis.

Please be water wise in Coles Bay

An unusually hot, dry summer is starting to impact water supply levels in some parts of the state, meaning households and businesses in Launceston and parts of the East Coast will need to be conservative in their use of water over March and April.
We appreciate how well our customers respond to the need to be water wise.
We will continue to monitor levels and keep customers up to date with how their conservation efforts are tracking.
