The first weekend of spring is bursting with live music, dancing, family fun and community events across the Snowy Mountains and Monaro.

From winery sessions and salsa nights to open mic performances, music bingo and live entertainment. Over the weekend, explore vintage cameras, classic cars, cultural celebrations, spring snow activities (final weekend hurrah for Charlotte Pass Snow Resort 🙌), Father's Day fun and much more.

Single vehicle crash on Monaro highway at rock flat. Vehicle is not blocking road way, but motorists advised to slow down.

Emergency services are responding to a single-vehicle crash on the Monaro Highway at Rock Flat, 10 kilometres north of Nimmitabel.

The crash occurred just before 3PM.

A man is his 50s, who is the sole occupant of the vehicle, is being assessed by paramedics.

The vehicle is not blocking the roadway, but motorists in the area are advised to slow down and excercise caution.

🚨 Monaro Highway is closed between Nimmitabel and Cooma in both directions due to a truck fire near Stanton Street in Nimmitabel.

Avoid the area, use a different route or delay your trip until the incident is over. If you're already on the highway, follow the direction of emergency services.

☀️ Now that it's warming up and heading into breeding season, you may see our local wildlife becoming more active. Here's a few koala contacts:

🚗 Driver awareness - when traveling around the Snowy Monaro, be aware of wildlife on or near the road, especially around dawn or dusk.

🌱If you spot a koala that looks like it may need assistance, reach out to our local wildlife carers at LAOKO. Phone (02) 6456 1313. Want to be a wildife warrior? Follow LAOKO for upcoming wildlife carer training workshops.

🎤 For local landholders, Koala Karaoke is back - South East Local Land Services are asking for land managers across the Southern Tablelands to help listen in on the local koala population. During breeding season, male koalas become much more vocal, providing the perfect opportunity to detect where they’re living using small audio monitors.
