What a season we've had!

From curious whale sharks and playful humpback whales to graceful manta rays, reef sharks, turtles, dolphins and so much more… every day on Ningaloo reminded us just how special this place is.

These 9 photos capture just a small glimpse of the incredible encounters we’ve been lucky enough to share. No two days were ever the same, and that’s the magic of our reef.

A huge thank you to every guest who joined us, every crew member who made these experiences possible, and everyone who has followed along, shared our posts and supported us throughout the season. Your excitement, respect for the ocean and unforgettable reactions are what make these days so rewarding.

Here’s to the wildlife, the memories, and another incredible chapter on the Ningaloo Reef. 🌊🐋🦈🐢

BEYOND THE BLUE - A Calf’s First Migration

At just a few months old, humpback calves make their very first migration—travelling thousands of kilometres alongside their mothers before reaching Antarctica.

But not every whale beside a mother and calf is family. “Escort” whales—often adult males—may accompany the pair for part of their journey along the Humpback Highway.

BEYOND THE BLUE - did you know this about our famous humpback whales?

Every winter, thousands of humpback whales pass Coral Bay on one of the world’s greatest migrations, travelling over 10,000 km between their Antarctic feeding grounds and tropical breeding waters.

Every humpback whale has a story... and it starts with their tail. 🐋

Did you know the underside of a humpback whale's tail, known as its fluke, is completely unique? Just like a human fingerprint, no two flukes are the same.

The distinctive patterns, markings and scars allow scientists and researchers to identify individual whales and track their movements across oceans. Every fluke photographed helps build a better understanding of migration routes, population health and the lives of these incredible animals.

Keep your camera ready—you never know when you'll witness the perfect fluke dive on the Ningaloo Reef!

Ever seen a humpback whale pec slap? 🐋💦

This is when a humpback whale throws one of its enormous pectoral fins into the air before slapping it back onto the ocean's surface.

Why do they do it? Researchers believe it could be a way to communicate with other whales, signal their presence, or even just play. Whatever the reason, it's one of the many spectacular behaviours you might witness during humpback season on the Ningaloo Reef.

Join us on the Ningaloo Reef this humpback season and experience these incredible behaviours in the wild.

👉🏽 We have a few spots remaining for Sunday, and into next week!
