A big welcome home to our guests who have just returned from Croydon Travel's hosted Norfolk Island tour. We’re sure everyone agrees that having an experienced Tour Manager along the way makes all the difference when travelling as a group.

A special shout-out to our Tour Manager, Jacinta Anderson, whose passion, knowledge, and experience ensured our guests were truly immersed in everything this beautiful and remote island has to offer. From local stories and hidden gems to having a transport vehicle always available throughout the journey, it’s these personal touches that help create unforgettable travel memories.

Our Norfolk Island Hosted Tour: History, Nature & Island Charm.

Rain hasn’t dampened our spirits as we set out on the Convict Settlement Tour. We learned about the island’s first convict settlement and the second penal settlement, with its remote location making it ideal for the harsh punishments imposed on prisoners. Our guide brought Norfolk Island’s history to life with fascinating stories and deep knowledge.

We wrapped up the day with a stunning sunset over Emily Bay, Slaughter Bay, and Kingston Pier—a perfect end to a full day.

The Norfolk Island group also enjoyed a Breakfast Bushwalk, with some tackling the 3.5 km trail through Norfolk Island National Park, while others opted for the gentler 100 Acres Reserve walk. Both groups were rewarded with a delicious breakfast atop the cliffs at Captain Cook’s Lookout, bathed in beautiful sunshine.

**Fun Fact:** Norfolk Island is one of the few places in the world where green sea turtles regularly return to nest on its beaches, especially around Emily Bay and nearby sheltered coves.

Our hosted tour of Norfolk Island continues! 🌿
Today was all about discovering the island’s rich history and breathtaking views. From the stunning outlook at Queen Elizabeth Lookout to the stories of Historic Kingston, every stop brought Norfolk’s past and present to life.

We soaked up the beauty of Emily Bay and Cascade Bay, before visiting St Barnabas Chapel a well preserved 19th century chapel, known for its striking stained glass and Melanesian craftsmanship.

This afternoon, the group stepped into history at the incredible Cyclorama. The 360 degree artwork brings the story of the Bounty mutineers and their descendants to life.

The day wrapped up perfectly with a delicious dinner at The Pines historical homestead, followed by a spine tingling ghost tour through the Kingston ruins and old duplex homes, not for the faint hearted 👻

🏝️ Did you know? Kingston and Arthur's Vale Historic Area is part of a UNESCO World Heritage listing and was once one of the harshest penal settlements in the British Empire. Many of the ghost stories you hear today are said to come from that very past.

Our Norfolk Island Hosted Tour Begins!
Looking at that first glimpse from above, this island paradise is a beautiful mix of rolling green hills, iconic Norfolk pines, and bright turquoise Pacific waters.

After a smooth journey, the group settled into the South Pacific Resort—our home for the next 9 nights. We kicked things off in style with a fantastic arrival dinner at Hilli Restaurant, the perfect start to an unforgettable holiday together.

🏝️ Fun Fact: Norfolk Island has its own unique language called Norf'k, which is a blend of 18th-century English and Tahitian. You might hear locals say "Watawieh?" (How are you?) or see road signs welcoming you with "Kushuru" (Good/Fine).
