Almost 30 years ago, I decided to start two holiday cottages on our farm because I felt inspired to share this beautiful part of Victoria, Australia with other people. I wanted them to feel the magic I feel just by being on our farm.
We have lots of people through and they all have amazing experiences.
Recently we had two nurses from the city who were working here temporarily. I don't think that they realised where they would be staying...... In a little off-the-grid cottage with no TV......
Here is their experience:
" On arrival, we panicked about how we'd survive out here. We looked across the field and it occurred to us that we were being watched.
🐮🐮Side by side, with interest we thought... what were the cows thinking.... as if to say: "Careful you're on candid camera".
The following day their eyes said:
" Now you have calmed yourselves down, let's reconnect with our true selves. No need for all those man-made things. All you need is a charming little cottage, a wood fire to warm you up, stars as far as the eye can see, birds singing to you at dawn, swimming with us down the creek, taking in pure air.
Warning! The cricket sound is not so inviting.
Sorry for the poo everywhere, we don't believe that it's our fault. Spiders are hanging in your room( free of charge...😉)
Having said all the above..... we moooo cows welcome you to the space we call home. We know you'll be back."
In our line of work (nursing), we give away so much of us. This magic existence has re-energised us. We are ready to give again in our next destination. Blessings, with love xx
