We had a really special guest onboard Oolin Tours today — Mrs Bobby Meiklejohn, one of our old primary school teachers.
Her husband Bill Meiklejohn was my teacher growing up, and even though he couldn’t be there, seeing her on Country brought back so many memories and tears.

It reminded me how important relationships are. Some teachers don’t just teach — they guide you, encourage you, and help shape the person you become.
I’m grateful for the influence they both had on my life, and proud to now welcome her onto Bardi Jawi Country all these years later.

Full‑circle moments like this mean everything. 🥰🌊✨

So blessed to have organised this on country for family to educate the next generation about our Jawi Culture and Hstory. About how important Goodngarngoon is to our family and bring them together to share stories and listen to our Elders speaking of country and their experiences ❤️ So important to ensure the next generation can learn and pass this down to their children ❤️ Thankyou Everyone involved especially DBCA for working with our family to plan this important trip on Country 👏🙏 Thanks Kacey and Pakam for being able to record these memories that will be with us forever 🙏👌🏼
