As you can tell from Dean’s fingers, tigerfish have seriously sharp teeth!
So what better way to test out the new
Believe it or not but this lure made it through the whole trip, went through a couple of sets of hooks and still swims true! It’s now retired to the pool room..

Tigers have a bite so strong that they can punch holes in hardbody lures, filling them with water, and don’t even bother with timber lures, it’s like feeding them into a wood chipper!

When you need the toughest lures around, you gotta go for Halco.

So this is what happens when the Tanzanian strain of tigerfish find their way into a remote reservoir 😂 huge swarms of tigers that have never seen a lure, hit poppers all day long and tear each other to shreds!

This October - November it’s on again, and the fish you see here will be even bigger!

Right, what’s all this business about Tanzania tigerfish trips?!
Let’s lay out the bones of it, because there’s a bit going on!

River Tigers:
Either by foot or on one of the many boats stashed throughout the bush, cast your way through the eddies, rapids and waterfalls of this ancient African riverscape. Perch yourself on a beach with a beer, and feed poppers to savage packs of tigers, or ask your guide to “take me somewhere you have never fished before!” There’s no shortage of new ground to discover!
The river tigers are big, mean and fight like nothing else on Earth!

The New Neyere Dam:
Deep in the bush, 100 km long, built to crank out half of Tanzania’s energy demands at the outflow, while the rivers flowing in pump it full of tigerfish! This place is literally SWARMING with big tigers that have never seen a lure. Now in its 4th year, it has been confidently predicted that world record tigerfish are going to be landed any time now….
Insane freshwater fishing that must be seen to be believed!

Yellowfish & Friends:
Drop dead gorgeous, teasing you from afar, and the envy of your friends should you actually seduce one, taming yellowfish from the rapids is always punching above your weight!
Fine lines and a feather touch are needed to fool these fish into biting, then you’re immediately under-gunned should you actually hook up!
