Congratulations to Deloraine on once again being crowned Tasmania's Top Small Tourism Town! 🏆🎉

This year, the Meander Valley Business & Tourism Association threw everything into creating two outstanding submissions for both Deloraine and Westbury. While Westbury was just pipped at the post, a win for Deloraine is a win for the entire Meander Valley.

This award is a wonderful recognition of what makes our region so special—our welcoming community, passionate businesses, dedicated volunteers, rich history, stunning natural landscapes and the unforgettable experiences we offer visitors.

This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible commitment of the volunteers and committee of the Meander Valley Business & Tourism Association who generously give their time and expertise to champion our region and prepare this award submission.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Meander Valley Council, Visit Northern Tasmania and the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania for their valued support and collaboration. Working together is what continues to strengthen our visitor economy and showcase the very best of the Meander Valley.

Most importantly, congratulations to our businesses, community groups, event organisers, residents and everyone who helps make Deloraine such a remarkable place to visit and live. This award belongs to all of you.

Here's to celebrating this incredible achievement and continuing to share the heart of the Meander Valley with visitors from across Tasmania and beyond. ❤️

Deloraine is now a finalist in the national top tourism awards in September!

Meander Valley tourism businesses - Applications are now open for the Tasmanian Government's new $250,000 Electric Vehicle Destination Charging Grant Program, helping eligible tourism businesses install EV charging infrastructure for overnight guests.See Tourism Industry Council Tasmania details below. 😄

Applications are now open!

The TICT welcomes the Tasmanian Government's new $250,000 Electric Vehicle Destination Charging Grant Program, helping eligible tourism businesses install EV charging infrastructure for overnight guests.

The TICT has long advocated for targeted support in this area, including through our statewide Charged Up Tourism EV workshop series in 2025, and we're pleased to see funding now available to help businesses take the next step.

Key details:
⚡ Grants of up to $2,500 per charger
⚡ Up to 4 chargers per eligible business
⚡ Open to eligible small to medium tourism businesses
⚡ Applications close 31 August 2026
⚡ This is a competitive grant program – there's no need to rush to apply, as applications will be assessed after the closing date.

As more visitors travel by EV, destination charging is becoming an increasingly important part of the visitor experience. We encourage eligible operators to explore this opportunity and future-proof their business.
