Mount Elephant is one of the highest volcanoes on the western plains. Easy to find and explore with the family. There are wonderful views from the top!

New signage! The Committee of Management of Mount Elephant with community members are very pleased to announce that our new interpretive signage has now been installed around Mount Elephant. Designed to guide visitors and provide local information the series of the entrance sign, a way finding sign and another smaller 5 interpretive signs complete the project to upgrade signs that were installed 20 years ago.

Funding was received from the Bendigo Community Bank Cobden and Camperdown, Corangamite Shire/Berry Bank Wind Farm and Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal a total of $34,000. The signs were designed by Challis Design of Geelong who have completed many projects around western Victoria.

We expect that visitors will enjoy the new signage and find it valuable to guide them around the Mount and provide them with information about the site.

Mount Elephant will be closed from this Saturday until at least Tuesday to visitors due to extreme weather warnings. Stay safe everyone.

On Sunday the 30rh of November we celebrated a 25 year anniversary of Mount Elephant being purchased by the community. Attendance was great. Thanks to all who attended and to those who have contributed and visited over the years. We've come a long way. Here are some pics from the day.

Mount Elephant visitors centre will be hosting a live concert tomorrow where Noah Sycopoulis will be playing his new album of classical and folk guitar live at the Mount Elephant visitors centre in Derrinallum as it becomes available on Spotify, Apple Music and Youtube. 4:30pm this Saturday the 31st of May. A huge homemade tzatziki and mountain of turkish bread will be ready for you with other refreshments served too. Only $5 entry. Hope to see you there:) - noah

We had a small working b in the crater of Mount Elephant today where we removed some old tree guards and applied some PVA glue and iron filings (forbidden glitter) to the leaves of some more vulnerable little trees. It slows down the kangaroos and wallabies. Pictured here are Lesley and Terry.
