Mount Elephant Community Mount Elephant is one of the highest volcanoes on the western plains. Easy to find and explore with the family. There are wonderful views from the top!

Visitor centre open Sundays 1-4pm, and pedestrian gate always open.

Heather makes a model volcano erupt! She shows how the different types of volcano work. She has examples and amazing slides of different crystals formed in the rock when it cools.
There is another area where kids can draw and make their own paper volcano.
Everybody can climb the volcano and look into the crater (or walk into it)!
Good for primary school age kids, but parents will like it too!
Heather hopes to be there from 10.30 am to 2.30pm.

New signage! The Committee of Management of Mount Elephant with community members are very pleased to announce that our new interpretive signage has now been installed around Mount Elephant. Designed to guide visitors and provide local information the series of the entrance sign, a way finding sign and another smaller 5 interpretive signs complete the project to upgrade signs that were installed 20 years ago.

Funding was received from the Bendigo Community Bank Cobden and Camperdown, Corangamite Shire/Berry Bank Wind Farm and Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal a total of $34,000. The signs were designed by Challis Design of Geelong who have completed many projects around western Victoria.

We expect that visitors will enjoy the new signage and find it valuable to guide them around the Mount and provide them with information about the site.

On Sunday the 30rh of November we celebrated a 25 year anniversary of Mount Elephant being purchased by the community. Attendance was great. Thanks to all who attended and to those who have contributed and visited over the years. We've come a long way. Here are some pics from the day.
