Standing at the edge of the mighty Gordon Dam… and wow, it really puts things into perspective.

At 140 metres high, it’s one of those places that makes you feel very small—in the best possible way. The sheer drop, the quiet, the wild southwest all around you… it’s something you don’t forget in a hurry.

It’s not just the scale, it’s the feeling. Remote, powerful, and a reminder of just how incredible Tasmania really is.

If you’re heading out this way, take your time, soak it in, and don’t forget to look back once you’ve crossed—it’s just as impressive on the return.

There’s something pretty special about a stop at Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm 🍓

Tucked away in Tasmania’s North West, this place is a favourite for a reason — fresh raspberries, incredible desserts, and that relaxed countryside feel that just makes you want to slow down for a while.

Whether it’s a raspberry waffle, a scoop (or two) of ice cream, or just a good coffee with a view, it’s always a highlight for our guests passing through.

It’s stops like this that remind you what Tasmania does best — simple, local, and genuinely delicious.

Have you been here before? Or is it now on your list?

There’s something about Bicheno that just feels right.

We stopped in recently and it delivered everything you’d hope for on Tasmania’s east coast — crystal-clear water, rugged coastline, and those quiet little beaches that make you slow down and take it all in. Watching the waves roll in around the rocks near the Blowhole never gets old.

It’s also one of those places where you can keep things easy — short walks, great photo spots, and plenty to see without rushing. Exactly the kind of stop that works perfectly on a journey up the coast.

At eGuide, we love including Bicheno on our east coast itineraries — whether it’s a relaxed stop between Hobart and Freycinet or part of a longer journey towards the Bay of Fires.

If you haven’t been, it’s well worth adding to your list.
