"Spotted on today's coastal walk to the Bluff Lighthouse: the 'Spirit of the Sea' statue at Aitkenhead Point. Standing 5 metres tall at the mouth of the Mersey River, this bronze sculpture perfectly captures the connection between man, land, and Tasmania’s rich maritime history. Love how it faces back toward the mountains!"

What a fantastic morning in Devonport as we welcomed the new Spirit of Tasmania into the Mersey River for her first visit!

Today’s arrival is part of the testing process before she begins her regular service, replacing the old vessel and bringing a new chapter to Tasmania’s gateway.
