Expect gourmet food trucks, boutique market stalls, live music from Tristan Heath, face painting for the kids, henna and hair art, plus plenty of reasons to linger a little longer.

🥔 This Saturday 30 May is International Potato Day

💡Did you know.... potatoes were the first vegetable ever grown in space 🚀 In 1995, NASA and the University of Wisconsin-Madison created the technology with the goal of feeding astronauts on long space voyages, and eventually, feeding future space colonies 🤯

Our favourite potato story grows right here on the Peninsula, in Boneo at Hawkes Farm.

For more than 100 years, the Hawkes family has been farming Victorian soil, with sixth-generation farmer Richard Hawkes turning a small patch of potatoes into one of the Peninsula’s best-known local produce success stories. Today, Hawkes’ Premium Kipflers are served in restaurants across Australia.

But the real magic is at the farmgate that is open to the public daily. Sandy tracks, picnic lawns, old tractors for the kids, shelves packed with the best local fresh and pantry produce alongside Hawkes-grown produce, as well as Little Rebel Coffee Roastery, fresh cakes from The Hidden Kitchen, loaded baked potatoes and......

One very good reason locals keep coming back... The hot chips.

Hand-cut. Triple cooked. Golden perfection 🤤 Saturdays and Sundays only between 10am & 3pm, these chips are the kind of food that becomes a core memory.

What started as a few bags of potatoes and an honesty box has grown into something that feels deeply Peninsula: local farming, good people and seriously good produce 👌
