Only five living species of monotremes exist today, and they are native exclusively to Australia and New Guinea:

The Echidna; Four species of spiny ant- and termite-eating mammals (also known as spiny anteaters).
And its cousin The Platypus: A semiaquatic, duck-billed, web-footed mammal.

We spot them day and night on tour.

Going to have to change the name to Numbat Adventure Tours , another sighting yesterday,thats 3 tours in a row for me. Probably the same girl, she will have her young hidden nearby.

So lucky again , setting up where we have our bbq dinner in the forest, turn around to go to the bus to grab some more stuff and there’s a Numbat 😁😁😁😁

This time I was lucky enough to get a sighting , along with 8 echidnas it was a magical day.
