In this article in the Huffington Post, our founder Kate Griggs shares her personal story. How having her dyslexia identified changed her life and fuels her passion as a campaigner to see every child screened for dyslexia and every teacher trained to support dyslexic learners, both with their challenges and brilliant Dyslexic Thinking skills.

Last month we had the brilliant BBC Chris Packham documentary.

Next week we have Jamie Oliver's documentary on Channel 4.

With all this focus we're hopeful for change. Because the truth is, we’ve known how to spot and support dyslexia for decades. Kate and her family are living proof! We just need to spread the knowledge far and wide so our systems catch up! And that’s our mission at Made By Dyslexia!

Parenting can be hard work as we juggle work, school, activities and pressure to do it all perfectly. But throw in an extra; be it neurodiversity, illness or disability and you soon find yourself at overwhelm. Most of us are doing our best - parents and teachers, but it often feels lonely, hard, and yes frustrating.

Sarah Blake wrote this piece recently. As she continues to discover more about her kids learning needs.

We are lucky as we have both the skills and resources to get help. But not everyone does!

Thanks so much Sarah!

"The real fear that I have for dyslexic people is not that they have to struggle with jumbled input or that they can’t spell, but that they will quit on themselves before they get out of school." - Stephen J. Cannell
