🚐 BIG DAY OUT FOR JUNE! 🚐

Had a great day in Bendigo today for June’s Big Day Out!

First off was morning tea at Lake Weeroona, before going to the Bendigo Military Museum where we had a guided tour with a very knowledgeable volunteer.
Enjoyed lunch in the rotunda at Rosalind Park before making our way to the Cathedral where the crew observed the surroundings with reverence, whilst respecting the atmosphere and presence of others there.

Did you know that Echuca Discoveries runs art classes with our very own Summer Griffiths?
Summer has had a passion for art and creativity her whole life, even receiving her very first art commission at just 11 years old! She also has experience in signwriting and design, bringing a wide range of creative skills and knowledge to our programs.
We are incredibly lucky to offer participants the opportunity to learn, create, and explore their artistic side in the regular art program.

Our adventure started at Hanging Rock Llama Treks where the ladies spent time meeting and getting to know the gorgeous llamas, and their care taker Mark. There were plenty of laughs, cuddles and photo opportunities as everyone enjoyed the animals’ cheeky personalities!
After our llama adventures, we headed to the beautiful Forest Glade Gardens in Macedon. The stunning autumn colours, peaceful walking paths and breathtaking gardens made for the perfect afternoon exploring together.

Fantastic day with our Ladies Rec and Leisure group exploring the Lego ‘Curiosity’ exhibition at Bendigo Discovery Centre. So much to explore, create and enjoy!

✨ Celebrating 40 wonderful years of John ✨

Last week we had the absolute privilege of celebrating a huge milestone — John’s 40th birthday 🎉🎂

Nights like this are a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do. What started as a service has grown into something so much more — a community, a family, and a place where people are genuinely known, valued, and celebrated.

To be able to come together outside of our usual routines, share laughs, cake, stories, and memories, and celebrate such an important moment in our participants lives is something we don’t take lightly.

Some of our team have known and supported John for well over a decade, watching him grow, achieve, and become the incredible person he is today. That continuity, trust, and genuine connection is at the heart of everything we stand for.

Casual Disability Support Worker
📍 Swan Hill

Swan Hill Discoveries is growing, and we’re looking for a fun, reliable, and genuinely caring person to join our team.

This is a casual role (approx. 10–20 hours per week) with flexible availability required, including:
• Weekend shifts (fortnightly)
• Sleepovers (1 per week)

About the role

You’ll be supporting participants to live full, active lives in the community — getting out and about, building life skills, confidence, and independence. No two days look the same.

What we’re looking for

• A positive, respectful, people-first attitude
• Flexibility and reliability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience in disability support is highly desirable but not essential

📄 Requirements (or willingness to obtain)

• First Aid & CPR
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• National Police Check
• Driver’s licence & reliable vehicle
