This sunrise photo just landed in my inbox - sent by my client staying at my favourite little hotel in Paris, captured moments ago. It's the view from their window. A simple, affordable place that I love to book for my clients. Not expensive, but waking up to this view of Notre Dame? Truly priceless.

The peak body of the Australian Travel Industry has put together a 12 month "gap year" job for school leavers. Let's hope we can generate interest for young people to join our wonderful industry.

πŸ’‘ Did you know 60% of school leavers want to take a gap year, but most don’t know where to start?

At the same time, the travel industry is calling out for fresh talent, new energy, and future leaders.

That’s exactly why, together with My First Job, we created The Travel Gap. A national, structured gap year program connecting Gen Z with real, paid jobs in the travel sector.

The Travel Gap is a game-changer for both young Australians and ATIA-accredited businesses.

What makes it different?

πŸ‘‰ It’s not about taking a year off, it’s about stepping into a purpose-driven industry.

πŸ‘‰ Participants β€œlearn, earn and explore” gaining confidence, income, and experience.

πŸ‘‰ Every opportunity is with a trusted, accredited employer so we know the experience they get will be best practices.

This is one of many A30 Workforce initiatives designed to create practical pathways into travel and rebuild a strong, skilled pipeline for the future.

Our newest travel advisor, Mili has just returned from an incredible journey with Bench Africa and Nomad Africa Tours & Safaris.

Visiting South Africa, Botswana and Vic falls in Zimbabwe.

Starting the journey with the Okavango Delta seeing a range of animals, staying just outside of the Khwai Village, in the Khwai Tented Camp. Expectations were defintely exceeded- Spoilt with hot water bottles and blankets on the early morning game drives!

Elephant Sands was next up, an incredible experience to see the elephants come down to the waterhole right up close by the restaurant.

Many more game drives around the Moremi and Chobe Game Reserve seeing amazing animals, including Elephants crossing the Chobe River on the sunset cruise.

Final stop was Vic Falls, staying at Vic Falls Safari Lodge, Couldn't recommend it enough, rooms ranging from 4-5 stars with the option for private suites.

We did a range of activies for all abilities, starting with a guided tour of the falls, walking under the 120 year old bridge connecting Zimbabwe to Zambia and then an amazing helicopter flight over the falls- which is a must!

For the adrenaline seekers, we did the Jet boat under the falls, they also have White Water Rafting (dependent on water levels) and bungee jumping.

Thanks Bench Africa and Nomad for an amazing trip, Highly reccomend!
