Exciting news for those of you visiting Paris from April 2027
Paris has officially confirmed March 28, 2027, as the launch date for the CDG Express, the long-planned dedicated train linking Charles de Gaulle Airport directly to the center of the city.
The new line will run between Terminal 2 at CDG and Gare de l'Est (East Train Station), in the 10th arrondissement, covering the route in just 20 minutes. Trains will depart every 15 minutes, from 5am to midnight, every day of the year. That is a significant improvement over the current option for most visitors, the RER B commuter train, which takes around 34 minutes to reach Gare du Nord and makes multiple stops in the suburbs along the way.
Ticket pricing has not been finalized yet, but a flat fare of around 24 euros per journey has been widely reported. Children under 16 traveling with family will ride free. Holders of a Navigo pass, the standard Paris transit card, will receive a discount of between 30 and 40 percent. Ticket sales are expected to open this fall, with international travelers expected to make up around 60 percent of passengers.
Test runs are already underway. The service will be operated by Hello Paris Services, a joint venture between RATP and Keolis, using 13 new trains built in Alsace. A new underground pedestrian walkway connecting Gare de l'Est to the nearby Gare du Nord is also planned to open at the same time, making it easier to transfer to Eurostar and other mainline services.
CDG has long been one of the only major international airports in Europe without a dedicated express link to the city. That changes in March 2027.
