Take a closer look at Larni Garingilang

Join us tomorrow, Saturday 23 May, for a free guided walk through the newest precinct of Bendigo Botanic Gardens.

We’ll explore the ponds, 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, wetland habitat and local wildlife — including the signs that rakali are using the area.

Hidden in plain sight …

Larni Garingilang opened in 2022, but plenty of locals still don’t know about it.

A few things you might not know:

- Larni Garingilang means “home of growth”
- It’s home to the native rakali
- Its wetlands are helping support endangered native fish
- There are over 1km of paths to explore
- And yes — there’s a great café too

It’s part garden, part wetland, part wildlife habitat, and well worth a closer look.

Sunshine, fresh air, a bit of exercise — and a very satisfying pile of weeds and prunings at the end of it.

Our volunteers had a busy morning in the Cottage Garden yesterday, working together to tidy, prune and keep the garden looking beautiful through autumn.

Many hands really do make a difference. Thank you to our hardworking garden volunteers!

Bendigo Botanic Gardens Nursery Sales will be postponed till the afternoon 1pm - 3pm tomorrow due to Anzac Day protocols.
A lovely day to meander the gardens and check out the plants.
