Lucky Bay, Cape Le Grand 💦

What a piece of paradise! 😍 These gorgeous blue waters are found just outside of Esperance in Western Australia.

Cape Le Grand is a wonderful national park that stretches along the coast. Lucky Bay is one of the most well known beaches here because of the resident roos 🦘 but there are many beautiful beaches found throughout the park! There is a small campground here, but book far in advanced! It’s a popular spot! (For obvious reasons!) 🥰

Gantheaume Point, Broome 🧡

If you are looking for some outer worldly landscapes, head to this red dirt paradise on the West Coast of Australia. Broome is a small city along the north western coast giving you these striking views.

Gantheaume Point is a significant cultural location for the native peoples and also, a spot you can see dinosaur footprints! 😍

SPRING IN SYDNEY 🌸 Where to go and what to see!

1. Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair - This is the perfect place to get iconic harbour views with the beautiful Jacaranda blooms! 😍

2. The Royal Botanical Gardens - This massive free garden also overlooks the harbour and not only includes the beautiful jacarandas, but plenty of other flowers!

3. Lavender Bay - This walk along the North side of the harbour has some of the most picturesque views in all of Sydney. Stop in Wendy’s Secret Garden to see another amazing floral display!

4. Kirribilli - This tiny neighborhood just north of the harbour bridge is the BEST place to see the jacarandas. The streets here have full canopies of the famous purple blooms. Just watch out for cars!

5. North Head Reserve - Spring is the perfect time to explore one of the many national parks in Sydney and North Head has some of the best views of the city skyline.

6. Opera Bar - Looking for a place to relax and enjoy a drink? There is nothing better than taking in the full experience of Sydney Harbour and having a drink at the iconic Opera Bar!

7. Sunrises on the beach - You could literally pick any Eastern-facing beach, just make sure you do like the Sydneysiders and wake up at the crack of dawn to catch the sunrise 😍

5 More Culture Shocks When Moving to Australia (Road Trip Edition) 🚐💨

1. Road tripping, in general, is very common in Australia; so there are lots of caravan parks, free camping sites, and van-friendly roads to take you around the whole of Australia. While there are plenty of retirees who have taken to the road, Australia’s roads are much more diverse with locals “doing a lap”, internationals traveling while working, and young families that just throw the kids in the caravan and get away for the weekend. (I do NOT blame them! 😂😍)

2. Australia is a BIG COUNTRY! 👀
Even if you already know this, it will really sink in hard when you’re seven-hours into a ten-hour stretch where there is literally nothing but dirt and roadhouses around. If you’re an impatient person, this ain’t for you.

3. Speaking of roadhouses.. all gas stations in Australia are called petrol stations. (John literally still makes fun of me every time I say gas 😂) BUT on the road, they are often called roadhouses. It’s kinda exactly what you would imagine a truck stop in the middle of the outback to be. Very questionable food, cold drinks, and the most bizarre and eclectic selection of souvenirs I have EVER seen 😳

4. The only other vehicles you’ll see on the road are other caravans or the absolute weirdest thing I have ever seen; the road train. 😨 This thing is a semi on steroids. Used to transport large quantities from Australia’s mines to the coast, these mega machines usually are three to five cars long. Trying to pass them on long stretches of outback road can be downright scary, I don’t care who you are. 🥲

5. While Australia is an absolutely beautiful land, the majority of your travels will be in very rural, small communities. I grew up in a very small town in America… but it’s nothing compared to these places. You would be lucky to find a petrol station, grocery store, and maybe one cafe. Cell reception and WiFi are nonexistent. You really have to rely on paper maps, a locals recommendation, and a sense of adventure to truly survive and thrive during a road trip through Australia! ⚠️🦘Worth it!
