Inner Journeys

Inner Journeys Ecotourism culturally aware travel and spiritual retreats developed by Inner Journeys in partnership with indigenous people.

Our ecotourism programs create the opportunity for a genuine culturally aware adventure travel experience learning of our hosts lifestyle & culture, traditional healing, spirituality and traditional medicine. All ecotourism adventure travel programs have been developed and selected because the experiences are very special, as are the people you will meet and spend time with. The programs focus on

lifestyle & culture, natural environment, traditional healers, traditional medicine and traditional spirituality. Program content varies dependent on the region, traditional healers visited and the knowledge they are willing to share. The programs are not standard ecotourism adventure travel vacations or tours. We are constantly seeking to add new culturally aware programs with emphasis on traditional healers and spirituality.

Wandering the streets of Chiang Mai early in the morning indulges the senses in a feast of sights, sounds and the smell of good food. This man was weaving the covering of some amazing rush covered furniture.

I was fortunate to visit the mother temple of Chiang Mai, Doi Suthep, on the day 400 novice monks were being inducted.

I am once again looking forward to visiting the Karen Village of Mae Sa Pok. The wonderful village woman in the photo with Jill wove some wonderful vibrant cloth that has been now made into a spectacular bed covering.

This is a great project.

This is the Abbott from Wat Tung Luang in North Thailand together with a villager who has just returned from the jungle after collecting medicinal plants and wood for use in the preparation of natural remedies.

This Buddhist Monastery specialises in making traditional herbal remedies and has a huge dispensary with novices and monks working.

It's one of the monasteries we visit on our Journeys in north Thailand.
