Our current Caretakers Neil and Maryna are getting the hang of this fishing caper. The fishing season is off with a bang, as Neil caught 2 of these right out the front of Poyungan Rocks today. We won't be able to get him out of the water now.

Just a quick message to any Queenslander's who might be interested in a last minute holiday to Fraser Island. We have a cancellation due to our guests from NSW being unable to take their week in the Holiday House from Sunday 5th September. Our current guests have caught 28 Tailor yesterday, so the fishing is still excellent. We don't often have vacant weeks during the fishing season, so if you would like to take this opportunity please give me a call on 0401015808.

The recent fishing trip for the Keightley boys has been a huge success. Reports of perfect weather and fishing conditions noted. Best trip ever apparently. Green with envy. Photos taken around Poyungan Rocks and FBH.

As you can all see from recent posts, the fishing is pretty good at Fraser at the moment. I just wanted to let everyone know that due to Covid restrictions our Victorian guests have had to cancel their school holiday booking. Therefore we have 2 weeks going begging from Friday 25th of June to Friday the 2nd of July, and Friday the 2nd of July to Friday the 9th of July in the Lodge. The Lodge sleeps 8 upstairs and 4 downstairs. Due to the late cancellation we will offer these weeks at an Off Peak rate for anyone who is able to make use of them. We don't often have vacancies during school holidays, so get in quick if you want to take advantage of this offer. Please contact Alan or Louise on 03 9527 2520 or 04 2226 1982 if interested.

Our current guests at FBH are having a great week of fishing at Fraser . Here is a photo of a jewfish and his smaller relative caught a few days ago. The smiles say it all. 😀Well done.

The fish are biting at Poyungan Rocks. Check out this Tailor caught from the rocks out the front of Fraser Beachfront yesterday. The boys are definitely happy. Well done Cliff.

The Pole Lodge is looking magnificent lately. The grass has come along nicely due to the expert care and attention provided by our recent Caretakers Richard and Toni. Richard has been instrumental in helping to install our new irrigation system over the past few months, and the results are amazing. We would like to thank them for all of their hard work during their 3 month stay, and we hope they will be back with us in the future.
After the recent catastrophic fire on the Island we have upgraded water facilities on the property. This will enable us to better manage fire fighting should another incident like this occur. Due to this upgrade we have also installed a filtering and sterilisation unit for the water supply in each of the properties. This has definitely improved the taste and quality of the water, and has vastly improved water pressure to the upstairs accommodations.
We welcome our two new Caretakers, Mike and Elle, who joined us two weeks ago. They are both adding valuable insight to ongoing improvements, and we are very grateful for the expertise and skills they bring to FBH.
The busy fishing season is almost upon us, so bookings are filling up fast. We welcome all of our guests and hope you have a great season this year.

Lyndon and Carol chose Fraser Beachfront Holidays to stay for their first visit to Fraser Island.

Yesterday was Lyndons birthday and they enjoyed the day at Champagne Pools and driving the beaches.

They've also been enjoying fresh fish for dinner with Lyndon getting on to some nice bream out front.

Today they are looking to enjoy a scenic flight over Fraser.

Keith is back this week with his group of men and they have had a great week fishing.

Late in the afternoon they have been catching good numbers of big dart, some going 40cm plus.

As it goes dark they switch to chasing bigger fish and have landed some very nice Tailor up to 59cm, the one in the photo is 55cm.

They have landed several Jew, a couple tantalisingly close to legal at 73cm but just falling short.

But Keith got this one at 82cm which was a keeper.

They also got a black tip reef shark.

Great fishing by the guys using a mixture of baits and lures including pippies, pilchards and fresh fillet baits.

Our caretakers have also caught some Tailor, they aren't in big numbers but there are a few about.

We were so pleased to have John and Kerry stay last week with their son Grant, his wife Kim and their 3 children.

They have been staying on the island for years but this was the first time with us at Fraser Beachfront Holidays and they loved it.

In fact, they've already booked in again for next year they enjoyed it so much.

They told us the house was great to stay in plus they loved the views from their balcony. Humpback Whales would swim by and they had clear view of everything.

John and Grant had a great time fishing and caught plenty of fish too.

Last week we had Keith and all his family back at Fraser Beachfront Holidays.

Keith has been holidaying here with us for 30 years. He stays here 6-7 times a year with family or different groups throughout July to October.

Keith said its always great staying here with us as everything is always clean, the location is perfect and they are always looked after.

We always enjoy having Keith and his family stay too. 👍
