Tips from Manta Ray Barge for beach 🏝️ driving 🚗

A big part of the adventure when coming to K'gari is being able to do some beach driving 🚙 However it is very easy to become bogged especially if you have limited 4wd experience driving on the sand.

Here a few handy hints:

➡️Lower your tyre pressure to 18-20psi
➡️Avoid night driving and watch for wash outs, creek crossings and hidden rocks
➡️Obey all road rules - do not speed
➡️Avoid quick and sharp turns
➡️The best time for beach driving is 2 hours either side of the low tide
➡️Be prepared - make sure you have recovery gear including: a shovel, traction mats and sn**ch strap. A tyre gauge and compressor are also useful for inflating/deflating tyres.
