Did you know we have an online shop?

One of our most popular hats is our Orca hat, which is extra special because it was inspired by a real-life Bremer Bay orca and our mascot, Chalky. You may even have been lucky enough to spot him on one of our tours!

All of our hats are inspired by the marine life we encounter on our tours, from Blue Whales, S***m Whales, and Humpback Whales to name a few. We also have our Whale Watch t-shirts and hoodies available, too!

You can visit our shop here: whalewatchwesternaustralia.com/shop/

Have you picked up one of our Chalky hats yet? We'd love to see your photos! 📸

Did you see her eye?!
HINT: Make sure you’re paying close attention to the bottom video.

Imagine staring into the eye of a humpback….

Not many people can claim to have done so, but this lucky group of Pod Members certainly can! It was made even more special that she actively reversed to get a really good look.

This lovely humpback was clearly very curious as she approached us and interacted with everyone on board. We do have legal distances we strictly adhere to, but sometimes the whales don’t! In such instances, we must remain out of gear (as we do here) until the whale has moved off before we would gently move away.

This humpback spent a while swimming around the boat, exploring both the bow and the stern before she continued on her migration. We love spending time with some of our 45,000 humpback whales and getting to know each of their personalities. Maybe we’ll see her again this year?

The Humpback Whales are currently on their northern migration and can be seen in Flinders Bay, Augusta - tours depart daily.

Bremer Bay Orca Season 2026 was remarkable, showcasing incredible and first-ever documented moments spent with our beloved Orca family pods. From beginning to end, it was a phenomenal season, marked by the arrival of new calves into the family, the reunion with old Orca friends after many seasons apart and the well-known matriarchs demonstrating once again why they are the ocean’s apex predators and exceptional leaders and mothers to their family pods❤️

This season was truly remarkable, marked by the arrival of new Orca babies, sightings of many unique and wonderful species seldom seen in the wild and the wonderful company of our fantastic crew and Pod Members making this such a special season. We are eagerly counting down the days until Season 2027, and we cannot wait to share memorable moments with our amazing Orca family. Next year marks a significant milestone as we celebrate our tenth Orca season and we hope you will Join The Pod and be part of all the fun!🎉 See More at The Daily Whale™️➡️ https://whalewatchwesternaustralia.com/bremer-bay-orca-season-2026/

The northern migration is observed during the winter months as the whales see the peak of their breeding season during the journey towards the Kimberly region. The pregnant females aim for the nursery grounds in the warmer tropical waters to give birth to their calves.

Along with the pregnant females, the northern leg of the humpback migration is often filled with intense competition pods, as males battle for the attention of a female. We were lucky enough to witness one such encounter just off the Augusta Boat Harbour.

This energetic female began displaying impressive surface behaviour, pec slapping and breaching to attract the attention of nearby bachelor pods. Before long, a dramatic heat run unfolded, with five males in pursuit of her. The competition delivered spectacular breaches from her and strategic manoeuvring from the males as they vied for position.

The whales are officially on their way up the coastline on the northern part of their journey! 🥳

We can't wait to spend the winter in Augusta with the most acrobatic of our magnificent Western Australian cetacean species, the Humpback Whale.

The northbound migration is filled with intense competition pods as males compete for the females' attention, and curious juveniles fill their days meandering through protected bays to fill their time while learning from the adults in the population.

The Humpback Whale migration in Western Australia is the largest in the world, with over 45,000 Humpback Whales making the epic journey.

They can be discovered on their northern migration from late May to late August in Augusta and in Perth from September through to early December on their southern migration.

We’re counting down the days until our Augusta tours begin! 🐋🥳
