Halls Outdoor Education recently ran another successful Discover Our Forests Day Out for the Gembrook Seniors Club!
The day began with morning tea and some fresh mountain air at Gallipoli Park, Marysville before the group visited Bruno’s Art & Sculpture Garden. Bruno generously shared the history of his property and spoke about the significant impact the Black Saturday fires had on the area, providing a moving and insightful experience for everyone.
The group then enjoyed the beauty of Steavenson Falls, taking in the forest surroundings, walking trails and the opportunity to connect with nature. A special thank you to Peter from DEECA for taking the time to speak with the seniors about the local environment and history of the region.
The day concluded with a delicious lunch at Marysville Country Bakery, where Kevin and Christina went above and beyond to create a welcoming reserved space complete with table settings, tea, coffee and a fantastic meal enjoyed by all.
A huge credit goes to Jemma and Luke from Halls Outdoor Education for the professionalism, care and support they continue to provide on these wonderful days out.
The Discover Our Forests Days would not be possible without the valued support of the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action and Outdoors Victoria. Thank you for helping create meaningful outdoor experiences for our senior community.
