From tomorrow at 10am, there will be a big release of new bookings available on our new Spirit of Tasmania ships.

Passenger fares start from $49, vehicle fares also start from $49, and cabin upgrades are available from $125.

Things like family cabins, recliners and the new pet cabins will also become available.

The release will also allow people to book their trip on our new vessels up to 12 months in advance, a great thing.

The new ships can carry an extra 470 passengers and nearly three times as many caravans.

Meanwhile, back in 1870 ❤️⚓️

Travelling through Europe, I keep finding myself looking up.

Today in Zagreb, it was the tiny 1841 high on the tower of St Mark’s Church that stopped me.

By the time the first stones and timbers of York Cove Cottage 1870 were being put together in Tasmania, this tower had already been wearing its copper top for nearly 30 years and the church beneath it had stood for centuries.

I imagine the planning, excitement and challenges of building both were much the same… although York Cove Cottage 1870 may have had a slightly smaller budget! 😄

There’s something special about staying within old walls and wondering about the people who created them and all the stories they’ve quietly collected.

Dolly Parton never forgot the little Tennessee mountain home that shaped her and she never stopped giving back.

She gave us music, laughter, strength and a beautiful reminder to never be ashamed of where we come from.

But perhaps one of her greatest legacies is Dolly Parton’s “Imagination Library”, created to put free books into the hands of children and inspire them to read, dream and imagine a bigger world. 📚❤️

ine ge"S.S. Nelson. " In 1890 this iron steamer which was 200ft. long and of 649 gross tons, crashed into Porpoise Rock, between Garden Is. and George Town, sank and became a total wreck. This was the first time she had been inside the Tamar Heads.
