Hello everyone,
This is the first post since the 19th of March, so I am going to bring you all up to speed with what we have been up to. First of all, Gaz and I are very well and happy, at times it has been a bit scary but we are self- isolating and doing well.
After a great stay at Kimba we pulled up at Ceduna and stocked up a bit before crossing the Nullarbor. On our way out of Ceduna we took some photos of different kinds of windmills which I will put up later.
Crossing the Nullarbor was fantastic we love the change in vegetation and the great stretch of straight road, we made the Nullarbor roadhouse at 5pm on the 21st of March we had some dingo’s roaming around our site which was good, after reading a sign about caves 10ks away we decided to venture out to explore but couldn’t find any bloody caves ????? Day 2 on the Nullarbor was raining and even a bit cold so it wasn’t a very good time to site see but we did manage to get some photos of the cliffs.
We didn’t have any trouble crossing the border although the corona virus hadn’t hit as hard then. At this stage we were heading to Esperance to stay put for a month or two, we booked into the Pink Lake CP for 4 nights to start with just to make sure we liked it and the woman said that would be fine but when we arrived she said we can only have 2 nights and then it would be day by day as they were going to close the park, Gaz and I decided to do the tourist thing and headed out to the Cape La Grande NP and wow how very beautiful, we drove on the beach and had a picnic and watched the kangaroos playing on the sand, we have put up some pics of this, the next day we headed for Geraldton, so we booked a CP and headed off.
It was interesting how different people were handling the new rules put in place as well as the hygiene, concerning the safe guard against the virus, we would pull up at a roadhouse and no more than 5 people were allowed in the shop at the one time, a line drawn on the floor to show you how close you could get to the counter, then you would venture onto the next roadhouse and they didn’t think it was anything to worry about just amazing.
We arrived at Belair caravan park in Geraldton after only 2 days, the park is just opposite the beach and the managers are wonderful, so friends we have become locals and are here for the long haul, we are in self isolation and only venture out for a walk and to do some shopping just like everyone, we have some great pics to put up, we won’t be doing many write ups, so take care everyone and stay well
All our love
Gaz and Kaz
