Uzbekistan – Ceramics: All Fired Up!

Ceramics are one of Uzbekistan’s most celebrated crafts, with a history that stretches back thousands of years.

The discovery of rich blue glazes made these ceramics highly sought-after trade goods—and helped inspire some of the most breathtaking monuments imaginable.

Join us as we delve into this fascinating history and visit workshops that continue these age-old traditions today.

Many of these studios boast over eight generations of artisans, preserving family skills and unique techniques passed down through time.

You’ll have the chance to try your hand at decorating ceramics in various studios—and take home a piece (or three!) that you painted yourself.
