Such a beautiful animal.

And just think... you could have your own little escape in my horse stables. There are horsey touches everywhere. Not only that... you will quite often hear and see the horses next door. Imagine lying in bed and listening to the whinny or neigh of a horse. Such a beautiful friendly sound.

I love horses.

Here's a picture of one that looks like my first horse Sundance. (Named after guess who?)

Well hello!

I know it has been remiss of me not posting for quite some time.... but feeling refreshed after a lovely holiday in France... a dream coming true of visiting such a county of history, and also getting the opportunity to explore other properties listed for accommodation it made me realise perhaps I have been a tad slack in writing for a while.

Yes....my bookings for Vintage Heaven have had a great couple of years with most weekends booked and I am very proud of that... but I should really be still trying to expand by sharing my loves and joys of vintage, antiques and homes of age and character.

I'll share some pictures of what I saw and also show you a glimpse of some treasures I snaffled and have brought home. Actually a couple of parcels are still to get here as I had to post them or I would have exceeded baggage allowances.

My favourite items were of course linens and chandeliers. No chandelier came home (drat) but I got to admire so many in homes and shops. French chandeliers are to die for.

But the linen.... oh the linen... well... what can you say but I was quite simply freaking out. I have bought antique sheets from France on ebay before, plus through a contact I have in Victoria... and I just adore the age and quality.

I get the greatest pleasure in seeing monogrammed sheets and love snuggling under antique sheets on my antique beds.

If washing is up to date, my guests quite often have an antique sheet as the top sheet in my stables and I have had lovely feedback about that.

So many beautiful people come into our lives. In so many ways.

I don't even have to meet some of my guests to know just how beautiful they are.

It's the emails you might get before the booking. It can be quite clearly felt from the writing. It can be the phone call if they call.

It can be the comments they leave in my Visitors book. Or the text they send as they leave.

It can even be in the way they leave the place.

I am a tactile person, and I love that people enjoy touching and using the things I have in the Stables. That was part of what I wanted to create. I want them to reminisce, and enjoy the pieces. I am not precious about stuff. I like it to be used and enjoyed. If a piece breaks here and there... that's ok. It can be replaced with something else. That's the joy about vintage. We can find something similar or maybe even the same.

Many have commented about the little treasures they find or the little details. That makes me happy. They 'get' me it seems.

I enjoy the people who find my business because they have searched for something a bit different. Newish and clinical can have its place (of course) but many want to experience something more. And I'm glad they do because thats what I want to do.

A beautiful story from a couple recently.... (written in the book)... they loved the place as it reminded them of a gorgeous old shack where they had their first kiss 12 years ago...and they haven't stopped kissing since. awwwww....... how beautiful! Of course, I got all teary reading that, but again so very validated in my passion of providing that which I love to others.

Popping in to share a beautiful review from last weekend. Sorry I haven't been on here much as I have started a new job during the week. But Vintage Heaven is still open for business... Thankyou so much to this lovely couple for such a detailed review...

“LOVED our stay at Vintage Heaven! Everything was too easy! SO MUCH food was provided, that after a night at a hotel we were so excited to be making home cooked meals, and this cottage was exactly the environment to enjoy them. The decor was gorgeous, the bath was yummy and the fire pit added a bit of country to this weekend away. We watched some TV, snug in the blankets, roasted marshmallows on the fire, had a bath and cooked breakfast in the morning in addition to the abundance of activities in healesville itself. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you Jenny for being such an easy host :)”

What nicer way to receive a package than this when you love all things vintage.

Mmmmm... Now to open it and bathe in the fragrances of the handmade soaps with pure essential oils.

I am so thrilled with my bookings since joining "Airbnb". Not sure why it took me so long to join them. They are the fastest growing accommodation business in the world and thankfully they are picking me up many more bookings. I haven't missed a weekend since joining them. Awesome!

Last weeks guests from Geelong left me a beautiful comment. And especially nice as I have just celebrated Vintage Heaven's fourth birthday on 11/11.

"Delightful! Stayed for a wedding at one of the local winery's and this was the perfect place for our child free getaway. Beautifully renovated stables, amazing attention to detail with the vintage styling and candles. Peaceful, relaxing, comfy bed and breaky supplies... What more could you need. Highly recommended. Jenny was lovely and very easy to contact."

Looking forward to welcoming my two sets of guests for this weekend.
